CB's Grim Frequencies IC -- COMPLETE

"Uh... no... not really... at least not... for anything... other than cooking...", T-dawg manages to gasp in response to D0 in between ragged breaths. Grabbing the two tentacles tight, he attempts to bodily drag the thing into the back of the bathroom stall, ready to beat a retreat once everyone else is safe.

OOC: Another grapple check. I'm going to assume the thing will try to break out again on it's turn, so first an opposed check to prevent that (and an AP if needed/viable):
Opposed grapple check: [roll0] (still fatigued).
AP: [roll1]

Then, possibly a touch attack to re-grapple (if needed): [roll2] (no AP on that one)

Finally, a grapple check to either move the grapple (if it didn't break out) or re-establish the grapple (if it did and the touch attack hit): [roll3]
...and an AP (if viable): [roll4]

Phew! Burning through those APs!

OOC: I believe I get to see it's roll (as the one attempting to escape, it rolls first) before I decide whether to spend that first AP (assuming again that it attempts to escape), and I'm not going to bother spending an AP on the second roll. Not too much difference between a 9 and a 13...

Round 5, paused mid-round for re-stated actions

Initiative:
Otter 26
Cyril 25
Thrall 17
J.R. 14
T-dawg 12
Feral 5

T-dawg didn't want the knife, so Otter dropped it in the hallway at her feet. She leaned around the corner, and fired another shot that missed. T-dawg started off the round grappling the thrall, but the thrall once again broke free. This time, the creature shrank back into the corner of the room. Long tentacles crept down the wall containing a toilet stall; the thrall was shrinking itself in size, and changed color from violent blood-red and purple to putty--the color of the bathroom walls. By the end of its turn, the thrall was medium-sized, and had dipped inside the furthest toilet stall, out of sight. Splashing sounds indicated that the creature landed in the toilet.[sblock=AoO]J.R. is wielding a firearm, which, as a ranged weapon, does not afford him an AoO as the thrall moves out of a threatened square. I had a hard look at T-dawg's character sheet in the RG to see whether T-dawg would get an AoO, and don't see anything that tells me that T-dawg's unarmed attacks count as armed (player design choice not to select Combat Martial Arts). Would you please make a definitive note about this, and say with specificity in the RG that Brawl does not grant T-dawg "armed" status to unarmed attacks? Would really help me out tremendously to see a note on his sheet about that.[/sblock]

OOC: Hey, [MENTION=12430]gribble[/MENTION], [MENTION=6763059]Rubberneck[/MENTION], and [MENTION=6755061]Kiraya_TiDrekan[/MENTION], you guys can re-state your characters' action for the round based on the update. Basically, the thrall re-sized itself from large to medium, and slid across the ceiling and down the wall in the far corner of the bathroom. It dropped into a toilet, which, if you pursue it, is where you'll find it.

VISUAL OF WHAT THE THRALL IS IN THE PROCESS OF DOING

GM: Thrall -5 / __ hp

J.R. watches as it plunges into the farthest stall out of sight. He glances towards the others, eyes wide, and nods towards the mutilated body,

"Is she dead"

He moves in a wide semi circle around to the back stall, weapon at the ready.

T-dawg rushes after the thing, throwing open the toilet stall door, "You're not gonna get away that easy", he says, grabbing at the Thrall and trying to pull it back into the room.

OOC: We'll stick with essentially the same action and rolls - with an added move to close with the thing before the grapple. For convenience, I'll restate the rolls:
Touch attack: 10
Grapple check: 9
Note added to T-dawgs character sheet under the Brawl feat sblock. Will you see it there, or should I add under his attacks?

OOC: J.R. is up on init before T-dawg, and can reach the toilet stall first. He can fire at the thrall if you want. If you opt to do so, provide a die roll for attack and damage. The thing's maw is out of sight, though, so no called shot.
