D&D 5E CB's Stonefast IC -- COMPLETE

COMBAT ROUND 1, CONTINUED FROM MID-ROUND

Initiative:
.
.
.
.
Father Spec 11
Colden 10
Roscoe 6
Fulgrim 5

From out in the corridor, Spec realized his options are limited. To enter now would cause even more crowding, so he turned, raised his holy symbol, shouted "kaie," and reached out above the lewdy grinning skeleton. He made a pulling gesture toward himself. As he did, flames erupted from the ceiling behind the foul creature and rained down upon it. The skeleton lurched just then, however, dodging the radiant energy unleashed by Spec.[sblock=Spec]Well. Damn. :( Incidentally, does Spec do fire damage or radiant damage with that spell?[/sblock]

[MENTION=6787159]Skarsgard[/MENTION], you're up. [MENTION=24609]Strahd_Von_Zarovich[/MENTION] and [MENTION=95059]Forged Fury[/MENTION], you may restate your action for this round, if you wish.

OOC: I'm keeping my action and rolls, if that's OK. Fulgrim's going to swing at whatever is still standing when his turn rolls around.Incidentally, I finally picked up a PHB, so if retconning is still allowed, I may take it. Fulgrim should probably be an Abjurer.I don't believe he's used any Evoker specific abilities yet. Up to you, of course.

Colden slashed at Skeleton2 with his handaxe. He brought the blade down from a mighty overhead arc, crashing through the creature's clavicle on a diagonal, dealing 11 points of damage. The skeleton lost a third of its bony torso as a result of the blow, but otherwise remained upright and intact.[sblock=Colden]No disadvantage for Colden's attack because there are four individuals in the room when he attacks (Colden, Fulgrim, and two skeletons).[/sblock]

Roscoe turned around to face the new threat when he heard Guran warn the group about newly formed "monsters." The Halfling barbarian chanted, "Let me in, let me in..." from the hallway, and soon enough his wish was granted. When Guran used his handaxe to obliviate Skeleton3, the doorway to Room 7 cleared. Roscoe darted forward 20', and attacked Skeleton2 with his shortsword, dealing 4 points of damage. Skeleton2 crumples into a haphazard pile of bones between Colden and Roscoe.[sblock=Roscoe]Since I wanted to forward the combat round, but you hadn't expressly stated that Roscoe charged into the room, fairness seemed to dictate that I take the liberty of re-rolling Roscoe's attack. I rolled a 17, which hit. Hope you don't mind. I don't, however, see whether you state what weapon Roscoe used to make his attack. I checked your sheet in the RG, which says he has a shortsword, so that's what I used for damage. Roscoe gained advantage from Reckless Attack to attack Skeleton1. His advantage from Reckless Attack counterbalances disadvantage (Roscoe makes the fifth individual in the room). Attack rolls made against Roscoe in Round 2 will have advantage.[/sblock]

Fulgrim dropped the glaive he'd been holding and swung his battleaxe. Despite the close quarters in the room, he clouted Skeleton1 with his warhammer, dealing 16 points of damage. Bone shards meteor off the edge of Fulgrim's axe, landing with an audible clatter in the room. Skeleton1's jaw fell off and hit the floor, fpllowed moments later by its arms. A half beat afterward, the entire creature caves inward and lands in a spray of bones at Fulgrim's feet. [sblock=Fulgrim]Roscoe made the fifth creature in the room, but then he dropped Skeleton2 right before your turn, returning the number of creatures in the room to four. So no disadvantage. Your first roll hit.[/sblock]

END OF COMBAT. WELL DONE.

Edit: The following attack never actually happened IC -- this message was first posted chronologically between a call for actions and a revision that obviated this attack:

OOC: Advancing to the doorway (and letting Father Spec cast spells over his head if desired), Guran stoops to pick up his light hammer from the floor of the doorway, where it had fallen after his initial attack.

"Alrighty, then!" he announces, still standing in the hallway. He attacks the one remaining skeleton with a throw of his just-retrieved light hammer.
If Guran gets advantage from hiding, please reroll the attack. I didn't see that the skeletons had ever missed their WIS (Perception) rolls to spot him while he was trying to hide.
_: 1D20+5 = [7]+5 = 12
1D4+3+1D6 = [1]+3+[4] = 8

My apology. I didn't bother with a perception check for the skeletons to try to spot Guran because the skeletons were otherwise focused on attacking Fulgrim and Colden. As things shook out, initiative rounds are done and combat is over, but I appreciate the prompt about advantage, regardless.

"Well then... that was unpleasant," Fulgrim said as he stowed his trusty warhammer. "I can't be certain, but they may have animated when I picked up this glaive. Perhaps a spell of magic detection is in order once we inspect whatever is beyond the concealed door over there."

Pausing, the dwarf reached down and picked up the skull of the larger skeleton, using his knowledge of medicine to inspect it.

OOC: Wisdom (Medicine) Check to try to determine what kind of creature the larger skeleton was prior to death.
[roll0]

OOC: Oh sorry, I thought one was described as being rather tall. That's the one I wanted to investigate. If all three were dwarves, no need to update.

Replacing the skull on the ground, Fulgrim asked, "Are we ready to move on? I figure we should check the concealed door before moving on." Checking his map, he made a soft humming sound. "In truth, there may be another hidden room on the other end of the hallway, if Stonefast's symmetry holds true."
