D&D 5E CB's Stonefast IC -- COMPLETE

OOC: Spec's light cantrip is certainly one source. I realize he re-cast it under the table, and I didn't say Spec re-cast it on his mace (to make nice dramatic shadows during combat). I shall try to remember to be clear in the future.

As the group re-enters the hallway, Father Spec re-casts his minor light spell on the end of his mace.

OOC: I think, so far, we've generally been leaving the doors open. The only one we may have closed were the doors in the former market.

Fulgrim began to examine the walls, his notes indicating there was a very high possibility of a secret door in this room. His people appreciated symmetry.

OOC: Guran has been carrying a torch; he held it low to inspect the table and the tracks in the room with the tracks in it.
(He may have let his original torch burn out, and lit another one. Are we tracking that?)

Re: doors -- the dragon tracks were said to enter by the south door and leave by the north door; Spec was indicating following the tracks, so that means going out the north door, by which we had entered that room with the tracks. Since that's the most direct route to our next location, I think this means that we exited by the north door of room 6, not by its east door connecting to the corridor. (Subject to correction if others have other ideas.)

OOC: As far as I can tell, we're all on the same page. CB said we exited the door to Room 6 and turned right, heading east. That would mean the door we exited was the north door. Now we're down in Room 3 (by my map, I went ahead and assigned it a number when we first passed it).

OOC: The group exited Room 6 via the room's north door. The dragon tracks in Room 6 enter from the southern door and exit out the northern door. To date, no one has stated they wish to attempt a Wisdom (Survival) ability check to follow the tracks outside Room 6.

Fulgrim searched along the western wall of Room 3, hoping to find a secret pass-through. If there is a door, however, its existence eludes him. The masonry in Room 3 is well-constructed, and Fulgrim found no hint of a secret door.

OOC: Others may search, too, if they wish. If that's the case, please state where your character looks, what the character is looking for (secret door, treasure, tracks, etc), and provide a roll. If you wish to search for treasure, make an Intelligence (Investigation) check. If you wish to examine the tracks, make a Wisdom (Survival) check.

Fulgrim and Guran, being dwarves, get Stonecunning checks to notice a secret door. Stonecunning means that one's character is considered to be proficient in Intelligence (History) for the purpose of the stonecunning check, and grants double proficiency on that roll. Colden, Spec, and Roscoe may also search, but they are not dwarves and thus do not benefit from Stonecunning. They can, however, search for a hidden door by making Wisdom (Perception) rolls.

On the way from Room 6 to Room 3, Guran looks at the dragon tracks to see which way they go.

Once inside Room 3, Guran searches for a hidden door. (Using Stonecunning.)

Spec happily follows the group and seems distracted as he ponders this world around him. The air tastes different, more acidic, than what he remembers from back home, and he wonders if that's due to being underground or an after-effect of the mysterious transportation that brought him here.

He follows into the room as others look for secret doors or track creatures. All these rings he will discover in time. But for now... is that something shiny?

investigation: [roll0]

Guran kept a keen eye out for dragon tracks after the group exited Room 6, but unfortunately the mud coating the lower third of the walls and the floor in Hallway A has been trampled and worn enough over time that tracking in the hallway is a more difficult endeavor. Guran knows the dragon tracks exited the north door of Room 6, but cannot discern the path the beast took after that. He has better luck at the end of the hall, in Room 3, however, and spots the hidden door guessed at by Fulgrim. Like the other hidden door in Room 7, this door is centered along the west wall of the room, and looks like it would slide into a recess rather than open inward or outward.

Spec happily followed the group into Room 3. Was that his imagination, or did something shiny flash from the floor? Spec bent over and brushed off a thick layer of dust from the object. He retrieved a round coin, brass by the look of it, with a square hole cut through the center. The lip of the coin bore engraved markings, the like of which Spec had never seen.

Father Spec bends over and picks up the coin. As he stands up straight again, it seems he is out of breath. He takes a handkerchief and dabs his brow, before holding the coin to his mace, currently balanced awkwardly in his shield hand.

"Harumph!" he declares with triumph. "A lucky penny!" He offers to show it to others, and then places it in his coin purse in case it is needed later.

"What have you found there?" he says, looking at the secret door. "Such marvellous hinges!"
