D&D 5E CB's Stonefast IC -- COMPLETE

OOC: That use referred to Strahd's "(short rest)" in the post immediately preceding it (#566). I'm not sure if he intended it in the technical sense or not, but since it was placed in parenthesis, I assumed it was intended to be the game mechanic.

Fulgrim recoiled from the smell of the urine-filled barrel. Walking over to Guran he takes a look at the equipment he discovered, taking particular interest in the greataxe. "That doesn't look like orcish manufacture. The dwarf inspected the runes to see if he could comprehend their meaning.
OOC: Make an Intelligence (History) check for Fulgrim.

OOC: Yes, I did but you are write 1 hour is too long so I will take a "short rest" to drink and clean the weapon.

After 10 minutes, Roscoe stands up.
Let's move and hunt some Orcs.

Guran spied the ends of what looked like a small leather pouch poking out of the top of Dumb Orc's breeches. Guran pulled out the pouch and opened it up. Inside lay ten gold coins and--when he counted--25 silver and 40 copper pieces.

Fulgrim picked up and inspected the greataxe. The blade was forged steel tipped in what looked like silver or perhaps adamantine; it was hard to tell, even in the good light shed by Spec. The haft was metal, with a pommel wrapped in leather. The weight of the weapon was superior, the craftsmanship good quality. The runes weren't in orcish or dwarvish, they were in the common tongue and bore good will toward the bearer, wishing him or her fortitude, strength of arms, and luck in battle. Fulgrim could make out part of a series of brass wire-inlaid runes down the haft that read: " . . . set down and sealed, for whose sake it was that the blade was first forged, that finest of iron, spiral-hilted, serpent-bladed . . . ." The dialect was, again, common. And old.

Fulgrim examined the greataxe, reading the runes he could make out along the haft. "...set down and sealed, for whose sake it was that the blade was first forged, that finest of iron, spiral-hilted, serpent-bladed..." the dwarf intoned. "I admit, I don't know what the message means, but the weapon is finely-made. No telling where the orc got it from, but probably not here. Can anyone here use it?"

OOC: CB: Is the room a dead-end? I can't remember. I'll update the map here in a bit.

"About a dozen Solid, and some change, in a bag," Guran announced. He held up the bag to show the others, then stowed the bag in a pouch.

In response to Fulgrim's question, Guran said, "Speaking only for myself, I cannot use that: I never learned to use a two-handed axe, and I have been told there's some special skill involved in doing so."

He paused and thought for a bit, then added, "T'would be a pity to just leave it here, though."
