"Western door?" Colden whispers over his shoulder to the others. "Looks like tracks of some kind." He then moves into the room to clear a path for the others.

< snip > Dried mud coated the lower third of the walls, and the floor. A set of tracks stood in clear bias relief on the floor, on the western edge of the ruined oak table.

Guran looks into the room, then follows Colden. He holds his torch low to inspect the table, and the tracks to the west of it.

He asks the others, "Could these tracks have been made before the mud dried? Might they show the passage of whoever -- or whatever -- caused the mud to appear and depart?" He looks behind himself to see whether his own footsteps have made similar marks.

Father Spec consults the footprints, leaning down, putting his finger in the mud, and tasting a tiny bit on his fingers.

Hmm.

EDIT: Okay; I get a natural 20 on finding a beer barrel we all would have found anyways, and a natural 1 when it matters... too funny.

Fulgrim looked around, largely disinterested in the tracks. When he noticed Father Spec examining the tracks, he re-evaluated his boredom. Trudging over, he asked, "What do you see there?"

OOC: If Fulgrim can help, he provides Advantage to Father Spec's Investigate check.

"I really have no idea," says Spec, genuinely puzzled.

GM: The mud in Room 6 is dried. The prints were made when the mud was wet and dried undisturbed. The tracks have been eddied with the passage of time and other intruders, but there are several intact prints left for your examination. If your character examines the tracks in the dried mud, roll a Wisdom (Survival) ability check.
