D&D 5E CB's Stonefast IC -- COMPLETE

OOC: What do you mean by "use insertion to mitigate this," Kobold Stew? I'm curious. Couldn't find anything overt in the PHB or via Google search that clarified what you might have meant.

The group had ten minutes while Fulgrim cast the ritual. Did any of you wish to do anything in particular? Is there anywhere you wish to be standing at the conclusion of said ten minutes?

ooc: through a combination of my typo-ing and my computer autocorrecting, "inspiration" became "insertion". sorry.

If I'd been quicker, I'd have had spec jump on the grenade as it were with Inspiration, hopefully saving the gang.

OOC: If you're heading back to the ossuary, describe the marching order (default: Guran, _____, Roscoe, Colden, Spec, Fulgrim), the route you take, and what (if anything) you do enroute.

Before heading back to the ossuary room, Guran waits to hear the results of the ritual from Fulgrim.

Unless Fulgrim suggests trying the door again right away, Guran will march ahead of the rest of the party (default order) to their chosen resting room.

Edit to add: the party knows only one route to the ossuary room from where they triggered the Ice Storm trap.

Is there any reason not to take the rest here? It would be clear if the big door were opened, and there is only one (known) other route in, which is the way we came. We don't see any sliding ceiling tiles or secret doors -- the worst that could happen is that we discover them!

For a short rest, I think we're fine where we are.

"The door is currently clear of all magic," Fulgrim announced. Maintaining the spell, he wandered over to Father Spec and said, "There's also some other aura coming from inside the bag, perhaps I should take a look?"

When given leave, the dwarf inspected the contents of the bag, searching for whatever item was giving off the mysterious aura.

"How very odd," says Spec, showing the bag. "Perhaps it's that brass tube we found!"

Spec hands over the bag and rubs his hands with glee.

The wolf's head key with initials "HS" inscribed on it proved to be the item imbued with an aura of transmutation. When Fulgrim found and extracted the key, he recalled finding it affixed to the underside of the long wooden table in the room with the squeaky door.

Alas, the brass tube did not glow with magic. It remained, inert, in Spec's personal possession.

The group took a short rest inside the ice storm room, closing the north door to the room before doing so. You rested undisturbed. The trapped door remained closed for the hour's duration. The group had the wolf's head key but hadn't used it. Neither had anyone further investigated the trapped door.

OOC: Anyone wishing to use resources or abilities just before or shortly after completing the short rest, please declare so.

OOC: Fulgrim will prepare a ritual Alarm spell during the short rest in the room, covering both doors. I'll exclude all party members from triggering it. It should also add 2 HP to my Arcane Ward as well, bringing it to 4/11. I won't use my spell slot recovery yet.

Fulgrim readied himself for the adventure to come.
