Celestial fiddle - please help

Lichtenhart

First Post
I need some help with a little problem. The bard in my group recently found a fiddle that contains the soul of an eladrin. It is a sort of plot device, because in a future adventure they will manage to free the eladrin and will face the evil guy that did that to to him.
In the meanwhile, since the bard is a very good guy, he managed to awake the soul, so I think the eladrin should help him in some way.
In game terms, if the bard wants to use it for a good deed, the fiddle would grant him two additional features of bardic music. I thought that they shouldn't be more powerful than a 2nd level spell, but i can't find a really good idea.
Maybe daylight and calm emotions?
Can you help me?

Dancing Lights - so he can do special effects as he plays
Enthrall - to captivate his audience
Sleep - music sooths the savage beast
Slow Poison - "Keep playing! KEEP PLAYING!"

The above ideas are great ones - definitely consider them! If you would rather go the roleplaying route, allow the fiddle to boost the bard's ranks in a Performance Skill or three. ;) Or maybe it allows him to play the fiddle eventhough he could not previously...

For some reason, I just can't get the song, "The Devil went down to Georgia" outta my head now.... :P

Thank you

Biggus geekus: Great ideas, BUT (sorry I should have said before) he already knows these spells. Here are his known spells (if I remember them correctly)

0)dancing lights, flare, ghost sound, light, mending, prestidigitation
1)cure light wounds, expeditious retreat, feather falling, silent image
2)enthrall, cat's grace, eagle's splendor, cure moderate wounds
3)charm monster, emotion, major image, sculpt sound
4)neutralize poison, and break enchantment or cure critical wounds i can't remember (they levelled last time)

I'm sorry because they were really good ideas

Ashy: He learned to play fiddle at first level, and I'm a little undecided about items that boost magic-related skills... I'll have to think abut it

Lord Pendragon: I was thinking of someting more scenographic, but thank you as well.

Mustrum_Ridcully: It could work... Maybe I could restrict the magic circle only to the protection form... And it would fit the good side of the eladrin; what about the chaotic side?

Well, if you really want it to fit the chaotic side of the eldarin, have the spell only invoke if the character has done (or is doing) something that the eldarin would consider 'pleasing'. I.e. bashing baddies, doing a good deed, etc... Slowly give the character hints over time as to why it works sometimes and not others and eventually, he should piece it all together. It would make a great plot device and a way to help 'guide' the character in his development... ;)

Just my two greens...
