Celtic Gods

I was reading through the designer interviews for D&D and was surprised that the Celtic gods got cut out. THERE'S the REAL web supplement that needed! Not the Beggar god one :)

I sort of wanted to see some Divine Monsters in the web enhancement - but I suppose Deities & Demigods was never really targeted at Immortal Level Gaming.

As for the Celtic Gods - I thought I would take a stab at detailing them myself (I'll need to wait until I get D&Dg before finalising them of course) but I already have the basics down and the 20 gods determined (as well as some heroes; monsters; artifacts; magic items; places of worship; customs and prestige classes decided).

The Celtic Gods, now those are something I'd like to see!

I can't believe so few pantheons made it into the book, maybe I will understand why when I can actually lay eyes on it.

There was a really good article on them in Dragon around issue #65? It was a lot better than the detailing in the 1st ed. D&D. I think it would be cool if Dragon had an article on a Celtic/Bronze Age game like the one on Russia a few issues ago. Clerics of the Dozen King vs Vikings/Pirates/Romans/Cattle raiders :)

Hi Bran! :)

You have to remember that the amount of space needed to detail a single deity now is 3 columns (minimum). So deity descriptions alone for a Pantheon of 20 deities is 30 pages; and obviously Pantheon write-ups need to contain more than merely deity descriptions.
