I would like to play a Tough guy, skilled in close combat. I was thinking of an ex-boxer or something of the sort? I'm not too sure of what would fit.

How about an ex-city watchman for me please? Someone who picked up a few too many tricks from those he took into custody? (Investigative skills, rogue skills, that sort of thing.) Like a fantasy version of a pulp-era PI?

I'd either like some neat clockwork and steam toys (stolen from my insane mentor, perhaps?) to unleash on bad guys, or have the option of pulling a McGuyver and making them on the fly. Either one is cool.

Great ideas, all! Consider them good to go.

Okay, I still need to confirm with my son's soccer coach but other potential family conflicts have been checked out and it looks like a good weekend at this point. One quick question for you about the Elvan Wedding game - what would you rate the content as? I'm asking as my novice gamer daughter is interested in coming along but she is rather young (a very mature 12 year old). A "PG" or "PG-13" game would be okay, but not one with more adult "R" type themes. I'm also not sure if the GM would be comfortable with a youngster at the table. She's also interested in the Underoo Avengers game, which sounds like it might be compatable with a younger player.

Assuming PirateCat's OK with me grabbing a lift with him (Kev?), I'd love to go. Put me down for PC's Warhammer FRP game in the morning. In the afternoon, I'm happy to run Iron Heroes if you still need a third game.

Edit: there is a small chance I'll be in Seattle that weekend. So put me on your "Maybe" list for now, until I can confirm.

The only problem I see is that a "very mature 12 year old" is more mature than Piratecat. (Come to think of it, in the last game I played with Piratecat he played a 10 year old boy, a little too well :p )

The Eberron game is a mystery/intrigue set at a wedding/festival, so I would say it is about as PG as a Harry Potter Movie. I can't speak for NCSUCodeMonkey, but as DM of the Ebberon Game and as Host I would be willing to have her join in.

Okay, that sounds good. As for Piratecat's maturity level, my daughter Jani has known her "Uncle Kevin" from gaming cons since she was three-weeks old, as well as many weekends that we had both him and KidCthulhu up at our camp, so she lots of experience at dealing with his antics.

It looks like we're in then (Kriskrafts says she'll handle my son's soccer game if there is one that day). Please put both down both "SilverMoon" and "Janiru" for the Elvan Wedding Game in the morning. Schedule "Janiru" for the Underoo Avengers game in the afternoon (provided the GM doesn't object) and put me down to GM Sidewinder:Recoiled at the open table in the afternoon slot.

Here's my game description:

Sidewinder Recoiled. "Seven Outlaws in Search of a Bank."
In March, 1882 the "New Douglas Gang" pulled off successful bank and stagecoach robberies in Cheyenne, Wyoming and then went their own ways. It is now three months later, the money is all gone, and they've gotten back together to plan their next job.

Cast of Characters – The New Douglas Gang

Arthur "Deadeye" Douglas – Gang leader and crack shot
Mae Clarke – High class easterner and safecracker, Arthur’s gal
"Pinto" Joe Weams – Ruthless killer and outlaw
"Shotgun" Sally Fox – Beautiful but deadly, Pinto’s gal
Mongo Bailey – Strong as a Ox, but not quite as smart as one
Pamela Yeats – Former saloon owner turned reluctant outlaw
Flying Arrow – Navajo Indian archer, scout and animal handler

Note: Knowledge of the game system is not necessary - rules will be explained at game time. Sidewinder:Recoiled is a western RPG with rules modifed from D20 Modern.

Awesome! I love the Sidewinder rules and haven't had a chance to play them in a face-to-face game. Sign me up for "Seven Outlaws in Search of a Bank", playing "Pinto" Joe Weams.

Got the date off of work, so I'm in. :) I think I'm going to stick with playing this time around, unless you definitely do need someone to run another game. Sign me up for the Warhammer game and as Mongo Bailey in the Sidewinder game.

Sorry to get a bit off topic here, but what is the adventure you were going to run for CoC? Is it something I could steal to run as a one-shot or pbp?

I had run it in Chapel Hill for my group down there right before I left as a two-night game, so it would have had to have been rewritten for the Game Day. Basically, a small village in the Connecticut River Valley has lost contact with the colonial leaders in the eastern part of the state. A small group is sent out to find out what's wrong. From there, it's cultists and terrible things that man wasn't meant to encounter.

When I ran it the first time, it had some moments that didn't come off the way I wanted them to, but it also had some truly creepy moments — one of the characters that my group created was a Puritan minister with some psychic powers, and he ended up having some nasty visions (my favorite was a dissociative moment where he envisioned modern Massachusetts with all its trappings), and there was also an encounter with some colonists hunting witches/referencing the Salem Witch Trials, which was still a long time off during KP's War. I was using these to underline the wrongness of what was going on in the village and how it influenced the area around them (it was like a taint...the closer you got, the stranger things were).

Given a few weeks and a chance to rewrite/modify it, I'd be happy to run it as a play-by-post if you did want to play it. Naturally, the visions and what not that I've described above wouldn't be in it, but there's plenty of colonial history to mine for fun things.
