Blissfully, my first ever Ceramic DM (typo-riddled) entry has been lost to the ether. Just so everybody knows, I was writing in first-person present tense long before Suzanne Collins made it cool. ;P

Then I see that I apparently entered again in 2006, won the first round, and then forgot all about the contest.

If the field of writing contestants should happen to be expanded, I'd love to take a crack at this too.

If the judges want to expand the field to 12 (don't to 16!), you can do a "best of 3" for the final pretty easily.

One suggestion: we always started with 3 photos, then 4, then 5. I'd suggest maxing it out at 4. That 5th photo inevitably makes the last stories longer without making stories better.

Honestly, I think we should keep it to 8 competitors (with alternates) and 4 pics every round, with special rules for a tie-breaker. Just my two cents...

I have no problem with adding in alternates. People often jump into these things only to find they don't have the time...or forget about it ...or what have you. So I would say we could easily include 2 or 3 alternates to the writers'/contestants' list.

I am similarly inclined to keep it at 8 contestants. The 4 pix per story, makes sense to me.

So, unless there are objections (Mirth? Gregor?..do we still have Gregor?):

@Mirth (and/or Piratecat) I need to defer to you, as the more experienced with Cermanic DM, what do we do next? Pair folks up? Decide on a "Start date/time"? Pick photos? Separate "Entry/Judging Thread" or continue on this one?
