OOC: Total defense has no effect against a whirlwind - you need good Ref saves, not AC. You are allowed to attack a whirlwind once you are inside it - you are not completely helpless.

Round 488: The whirlwind drops to the ground. LM takes 10 and is picked up. (Rolled 21+3 Ref save both times) LM has 62 hp. The whirlwind flies up to 110Z and ejects, which triggers the feather fall again. LM floats down to 50Z and the whirlwind follows to 70Z.

Round 489: The whirlwind moves to 50Z. LM stabs and misses. (Rolled 15 +1 for haste -1 for airborne) LM is buffeted for 12 and picked up. (Rolled 21+3 Ref save both times) LM has 50 hp. The whirlwind moves back up to 110Z, but doesn't bother to eject.

LM takes a full attack and hits once. (Rolled 28+1 for haste -1 for airborne -2 for whirlwind)
The elemental takes no damage. (DR at least 6)

Round 490: LM avoids damage and misses three times.

Round 491: LM is pounded for 13 and hits once for 15-10-1 for airborne = 4. LM has 37 hp, elemental has 174 hp.

Round 492: LM avoids damage and hits once for 12-10-1=1. Elemental has 173 hp.

Round 493: LM is pounded for 11 and misses. LM has 26 hp.

Round 494: LM avoids damage and is ejected. He floats down to 50Z. The whirlwind ends.

What does LM do now? Total defense is now a viable option.
 


Round 495: The elemental moves to 60Z, attacks, then backs up to 70Z. It misses. LM floats down to the ground.

Round 496: The elemental moves to 15Z, attacks, then backs up to 25Z. It misses.

Round 497: Same move. It hits for 12. (Rolled 34) LM has 14 hp.

Round 498: Same move. It hits for 10. (Rolled 38) LM has 4 hp.

Round 499: Same move. The elemental misses. (Rolled 25)

Round 500: Same move. The elemental hits for 19. (Rolled 41) Laughing Mask is destroyed!

Next up for CG in round 500: a young copper dragon. (Draconomicon) The elemental is at 50N30E25Z (huge size) and has 173 hp.
 

Snydil strolls happily into the arena. He has rust colored bag tied around his neck.
He looks up at the elemental - Uhoh.
reaching into the bag with a pair of delicate claws he withdraws a small furry ball and tosses it on the ground.
 



Round 501: The elemental flies straight down, buffets the wolf (rolled 25+1=26 for higher ground) for 12 points of damage, then flies back to where it was. The wolf has 5 HP remaining.
