D&D 5E Chain Pact Familiar - Pixie

First Post
As limited as the warlock's spellcasting is, having a Pixie familiar whose spellcasting ability you can call on whenever you like is quite nice. At 3rd level, not only can you cast two 2nd level spells yourself, but you also can utilize the Pxie's 1/day each confusion, detect thoughts, dispel magic, entangle, fly, sleep, and other spells----not the least of which is polymorph.

You can polymorph an opponent into a squishy crab (on a failed Wisdom save), or turn yourself into a tank for an hour a day: at 3rd level, you can become a Giant Scorpion (50+ HPs and 3 attacks/round); at 5th level, you can be transformed into a Giant Croc; at 6th level, into a Mammoth; at 7th level, a Giant Ape; and at 8th level, a T-Rex!

From what I've seen, the Pixie appears to be the odd familiar out in the opinion of most Chain Pacts (others seeming to prefer the Imp or Psuedodragon or Quasit), but in terms of expanded spellcasting, the Pixie seems pretty nice.

You also still have the perfect scout, and maybe still a magic buffer, depending on your DM's interpretation of the "shared magical resistance" detailed for familiars at times in the MM.
