Challenge Accepted!

So in my brief stay here I have encountered new and strange ways of being and in many ways feel like I am not hitting home with a lot of people. I want to tell the world about my game, and I want a great community behind it, but how do I go about discussing it? Well I have come up with something.

Since I know many people are quite experienced I have designed a bit of a game, a challenge if you will. I would like for you the audience to come up with a character concept, and then we will see if my 2M gaming system can handle it. This way I can see how diverse my system really is, and you can find out a bit about my game?

What do you think? Will you accept the challenge?

The obvious first question is where & when can we see the rules?🤷🏾‍♂️

Common and expected practice in the hobby today is to publish at least a 10 to 15 page sample, perhaps as much as a chapter of a game system in PDF format so that buyers can gauge the writing, the art, and at least some of the ruleset to determine if it’s for them or not. Given that you’ve stated this is a several hundred page ruleset, that shouldn’t be prohibitive.

Well that is not the point of my post. I am in the proofing phase of my book. I am also leveling up both my product and my online presence. And when I decide to do marketing I will tell everyone all about that. For now I am looking to hear your character concept and then see if my mechanics can handle them.

You describe your concept and I will take it from there.

That will be part of the kickstarter. I am not here for marketing as much as I am community building.

I have what is called the portal book and that will be an abridged version to give you the basics.

Your community building seems predicated on making people do homework for you.

I have found in the past players have fun coming up with character concepts.
Yes, for game systems they know or can find. Not as an exercise for someone who is saying they’re publishing a game and then telling them whether their system can handle their concept or not, take their word for it. Your other threads about this have already declared total flexibility to do virtually anything, so I don’t see this as really useful. Also, all you’ve been doing so far is marketing, and rather transparently, if ineffectively so.

Nothing personal, but that’s a non-starter for me. I have hundreds if not thousand of PC concepts committed to paper or electronic form, and add several every year. I get my inspiration from all kinds of sources.

But except for a very few characters, the ruleset I’m expecting to use with the PC is always part of ny considerations. Ditto my personal role playing peccadillos. It’s a creative feedback loop.

Pretty certain nobody else would have come up with a Brujah based on combining The Tick and Blade when playtesting GURPS: VtM.

Judging by your answers there is nothing I can possibly say to appease you, or gain anything constructive by continuing to debate with you. You criticise a game that you don't know the rules to and then critisize not knowing the rules. It seems obvious to me you are determined to misunderstand, or poorly misrepresent any of my efforts.
