Challenge me - Mood Music

Holy Jesus.

All right. Let me think on that one for a second.

Hmmm.

I'd have to go with :
Igor Stravinsky's _The Firebird Suite_

A phoenix a saint, same difference.

Ok I need a theme song for a Cleric/ Ranger of Nugent Halfling Demi-God of Halfling Hunters and Chaotic Bards. And no you can't use any of Teds songs :P

The Bard is trapped with a child god and the only way to keep the child god happy is to keep him entertained. The child god is entertained with death and misery. Meanwhile, the rest of the party is fighting the child god's minions out side. The Bard is buying time, distracting the god child waiting for the rest of the party to show up and help him slay the god child.

THis is a really cool thread.

ok, here's my request. I need a theme for an air genasi sorcerer, he uses the alt.sorcerer domains lightning & wheather, so maybe something symbolizing storms? Oh, almost forgot, he's neutral-good, doesn't rush into anything, and values justice over all. so, no hyper-loud-fast music here (i.e. doesn't rush into anything).

Somehow, (and don't ask me how) Ottorino Respighi's _Belkis: Queen of Sheba - orchestral suite_ seems applicable here.

Especially, perhaps the "War Dance" and "Orgiastic Dance" movements.

This was just recently released on a new label, which was previously only available on a Chandos CD. The new one has "Ballad of the Gnomes", too, so it should be a good CD.

Two choices - both equally morbid (and both on the same CD)

Modest Mussourgsky's _Songs and Dances of Death_
or
Dmitri Shostakovich's _Symphony no. 14_ - which is basically a musical depication of love lost, and a suicide.

Enjoy.

Of course, their both Symphonic works, which would be hard for a single Bard to pull off.

If you're looking for something more subtle, and smaller in scope, some of Alfred Schnittke's String Quartets would probably work. Try his 4th.

Your character describes a flowing river to me.

Bedrich Smetena's _The Moldau_ which is a musical depiction of the river of the same name.

Just a random selection

If you want the DEFINITIVE musical representation of an evil magical forest, look no further than

Krzysztof Penderecki's _Canticum Canticorum Salomonis_

Choral, deeply haunting, disturbing at times, ethereal and subtle, it's the perfect musical depiction for an evil, or perhaps a mysterious Fey forest.

Most CDs that you'd find (there probably aren't many) with this song on it would be ultra-contemporary - meaning that you wouldn't want to play it to a girl that you'd just met, lest you scare her away.

Probably useful for Halloween, too.

This reminds of the movie City Slickers.

Remember the scene when they were talking about flavors of ice cream? :)

Fun scene, indeed. I also liked the "Best Day/Worst Day" admissions.
