Changing weapon size

I've looked at the rules in SS about changing the size of a weapon.

However, does this work with Small weapons normally wielded by Medium size characters?

For example, can Bladed Gauntlets (size S) be resized to size M and still be wielded by a Medium size character? Or does the size increase/decrease have to respect the difference in the size of the character (for this example, Medium Bladed Gauntlets could only be wielded by Large characters)?

What about a Large Bladed Gauntlet that a Medium character can use two-handed?

Hahah! Yeah, one of those rule inconsistencies... :D

Like a Medium-sized Dagger that can be wielded by a character with Simple Weapon Proficiency and can be thrown...

Or the amazing 2d6 Large-Size Light Crossbow. 2 hands to use, but still only a move action to reload.

Oh oh, or monkey-gripping two large size Spiked Gauntlets at 2d6 each.

Or, the Amazing Colossal Shuriken!

The thing to remember is, the rules in SS (and the identical rules in A&Eq) are only a guideline. Common sense must still prevail.

Don't laugh, I had a (2E) 19 Strength Half-Ogre fighter, double-specialised in shuriken, who was throwing the suckers many times per round for 1d4+10hp damage apiece. Friggin things were basically razor-edged HUBCAPS ... without having changed their base damage at all!

Nearly cut a cavalier's mount out from under him with one throw, once ... nasty, nasty things ... heh.
