Channel Divinity: Sehanine

I enjoyed the article, even though it didn't really offer anything for my own follower of Sehanine. (But then, as a dwarven invoker focused around the mysteries of ancient lore, and the love of family and kinship, he isn't really the standard Sehanine devotee...) Though falling leaves is a cool power, and I have been meaning to invest in something friendly-fire lately...

The section on Omens and Rites was quite good, and precisely the sort of small details I'm a fan of seeing in articles lke this. I also liked the sidebar on Sehanine and the non-divine worshiper. I like seeing tips that help guide people to the flavor of a certain character concept without needing to invest in only a few specific mechanics.

In terms of mechanics, I am intrigued by the focus on shortbows and the options it opens up, especially for hybrid/multiclass characters. I can see some cool ideas from being able to get a shortbow as a weapon / divine implement / arcane implement / rogue-legal. But the shortbow is average enough as a weapon I don't see any real abuse from it.

The moonbow opens up things a little more, and on the one hand, it is somewhat bothersome that such a powerful ability (getting weapon and arcane/divine implement all in one) is specifically tied to worship, since that means it is suddenly game-mechanically optimum to worship Sehanine for certain characters.

There are admittedly other items out there that operate similarly, of course, so it is hardly the end of the world. And I do like seeing elements that support a tangible difference between followers of different gods. So I'm undecided on that. But otherwise, great article!

For your invoker I'd suggest Moonbow Dedicate/Prelate, Silvery Glow and the invoker powers. Use the shortbow as an implement, get a bonus to energies that invokers have a lot, all three powers avoid friendly-fire and at paragon you'll be able to extend the range of your powers.

Thanks for the comments. I made certain to include the Non-Divine sidebar because as a player I was miffed trying to find ways to tie my rogue PC to the Raven Queen and came up short.

I thought it was a great article all around, in particular, I loved the sidebar on the non-divine worshippers of Sehanine and the section about the omens.

This was an awesome article, far better than their recent Channel Divinty articles and way, way better than the other article released today :(

The article was, in fact, bad-ass. Also, it offers a new solution to the half-elf problem mentioned in another thread -- as a half-elf who wants to poach an implement power now has a new, very effective solution: be a follower of Sehane (and get a damage bonus and the ability to use a Shortbow as an implement for all your powers for one feat).

Klaus, I enjoyed the article a lot just with one skim through. I think the little added bits, like different moons as omens, rites, and like, really make it a lot more vibrant than some of the recent Channel Divinity articles.

I hope to see more of your stuff soon, and hopefully more stuff written by people on these boards!

I probably won't be going the Moonbow route for this guy, simply because a staff better fits the image of the character... but Silvery Glow is looking more and more appealing, especially if I swap in Falling Leaves as his level 3 power (potentially reflavored to be falling shards of moonlight...)

Anyway, I'm in agreement that this is the sort of article Channel Divinity articles should be aiming towards.
