chaos devotion & brain lock.

long story short, if someone is under the effects of 'chaos devotion' from the complete champion and rolled a 6 (giving them +6 to armour class), and is then brain-locked (dazed) for 3 rounds, would they follow through and re-roll their chaos devotion each round or would they keep the original 6?

i'm wondering, because technically, they're not getting extra actions every round, (dazed gives them none) so they should retain the earlier roll.

your thoughts?

Is the benefit from Chaos Devotion an actual action the person's taking each round? If you're brain locked you'd retain a Bless spell's benefit, even if you can't really make use of the attack bonus.

i think to keep with the 'chaos' theme of the feat, the text reads '...on your next action...', but it seems odd that someone who is unable to take actions would also have their own personal store of chaotic energy patiently wait, locked in its own last die roll, for them to be able to take actions before roaring back to life.

I think it should keep forcing you to roll each round. What's more chaotic than randomly swaying your AC value when you desperately need it the most? :)

i don't want to pull out a veto on my player or anything, but i believe that the intention of the feat would require a roll each round, even if the wording indicates otherwise.

You're the DM. You never have to veto, cause you're the one who sets the rules anyway. If you had a split personality....maybe... :)
