Chaositech in Eberron

Thanks for all the input guys. My girlfriend has given me the greatest gift of all (well, maybe the second greatest ;) ): She's letting me buy game books. I'm definitely putting Chaositech on the list.

I own Chaositech and I'm afraid it doesn't quite fit the idea of Magitechnology. Chaositech is inherently non-magical... it provides magic-like effects but is not magic in any way shape or form. They're strange because they produce these effects, but for some reason they're not magic, but they still somehow work!

I'm not seeing the problem here. If it's "lost" magitechnology, then perhaps magic is a misnomer. Nobody knows how it works!

Does anybody out there have Eberron and Chaositech by Monte Cook? I ask because, on the surface, the two seem like a good fit, but I don't own Chaositech. I'm wondering (and I don't know why I do this to myself, because there's really plenty of new ground to explore with Eberron) how well they'd work together. I was really intrigued by Chaositech when it first came out, but right now I'm a slave to WotC's shiniest, prettiest new thing. Which is a shame because I really like Monte's work. My only hope is to merge the two. Any thoughts?

From what I have read from both, it would be really a great idea. I would love to play in such a campaign! My opinion: DO IT WITHOUT HESITATION!!

Aaaargh... And now I am wondering if Chaositect could be a nice addition to my homebrew... yet my gaming budget is not extensible ad infinitum... :(
