Character Builder has been Updated!

Made a Scout last night, but there's no way to get the off-hand weapon to display in the Dual Weapon Attack power. It always displays the primary weapon as the off-hand weapon, so unless your primary weapon is exactly the same weapon and enchantment as the off-hand its going to be wrong.

I believe this has been a bug since the offline CB since it was released for the ranger. Can't figure out why they can't fix it... seems easy to me, but I'm no programmer. They do have it listed as a bug on their list

Can't make a Star Pact Hexblade - is Dragon #393 content set for the January update?

And I have to wait several more weeks to make an Executioner :(

Dragon 393 would be updated in January if they keep the same update schedule.

Dragon 394 where the Executioner is would be a February update

maybe your dragonborn ate a gnome?

LOL!

That reminds me. Since 4e hit the shelves, I've wished Dragonborn had a bite attack. I have this vision of a dragonborn fighter throwing up his shield to block a goblin's sword, then kreening his neck over the top of his shield and biting the goblin's head. Then all the other goblins panic and flee screaming from the room.

Hmmm... I smell a racial feat cooking.

This is great. I'm now contemplating subscribing. I've been waiting for the ability to customize with my houserules. But now everything else I need is there - it is looking good and I might just go ahead...

Considering that the new CB is server based (i.e WOTC's server) I doubt you will ever get much house rule ability. I can see being able to type on the character sheet but nothing much past that.

I would think that smaller house rules would be exactly what they would want to add. Things like bonus feats, how many points for ability scores, changes to powers, etc. All the things that are supported by the system as it stands but are different. Those things are phase I for research on 5E.

I don't mean it jokingly or maliciously though. The information from the CB is data-mining gold. Especially once they get things opened up for house rules. If they can see massive trends in the house rules department it tells them that a good chunk of the player base wants a cirtain change to the rules.

What does being server-based have to do with it? Support for house rules has to be programmed in either way, and the amount of effort required to support house rules is pretty much the same no matter where the program is hosted.

More to the point, lack of support for house rules is still on the known bugs/issue list. So it's in the pipeline. Just a question of when, if ever, they finally get to it.

Server based means that they have to store your house rules in the character. Right now most of a character is just a referance to database entries. If you house rule it, they'll have to keep all of the changes on that character. Depending on how many people house rule, it could actually be quite a bit of extra storage space.

But, like Destil said, it's on their list. It'll be interesting to see how much they give us.
