Character Builder on the iPad coming soon?

This was a tough forum choice but I felt it was a slightly better fit here than in the 4e forum.

The Character Builder is Silverlight and currently Silverlight doesn't work on the iPad. But Silverlight 5.0 apparently will and it's currently in an open beta. So I'm curious to know if anyone has tried the open beta on their iPad and, therefore, if the Character Builder works on it.

I will, sometime in the next six months, be in the market for an iPad as part of a work requirement. But at the moment, the iPad could be swapped for something a bit cheaper. If, however, the Character Builder and other tools worked on it, that would be a game-changer for me.

Do you have any links available related to Silverlight 5 working under iOS? I did a lot of searching and found some references to people saying that Silverlight 5 might output HTML 5 and Javascript instead of its proprietary format but nothing confirming it, and definitely nothing confirming it would work on iOS.

How good would it be to have an iPad with all the player's characters on it, Compendium access, Monster Builder, Character Builder, and some dice programs? Ooh, and you could connect it up to a projector and use the touchscreen with some sort of mapping app!

Arrgh! My mind! It is melting with possibilities!

And if it works on an iPad, it should work on my iTouch.

Yeah, I know "TINY SCREEN!"- but I have my PCs on my iTouch on the Notebook app already. (I wonder if it will zoom?)

If it was all in a app that didn't require you to go out to the internet, that would be cool.
right now I have a icon that connects me directly to the dnd website.

So, as it turns out, this is actually a server-side change that allows content to be streamed to an iPad. This means the responsibility rests entirely on WotC's shoulders. This does not reassure me.

Heh, this is why I currently use a laptop... And it has a keyboard included! ;)
