Character Creation Post Game

Michael Morris

First Post
This is a post game to create a character. Here are the rules.

The starting stats for this character are: 12, 12, 13, 15, 15, 16
(Method used: 4d6 drop lowest 12 times, keep best 6 stats).

On each post you make one rules decision about the character - such as a stat placement, or a race, etc, and state one fact about the character that may or may not be related to the rules decision. You need to wait until someone else replies before you post again.

After all the decisions at 1st level are made, the character proceeds to second and gains gold to buy magic items & equipment. The amount gained at each level (based on table 5-1 in the DMG) is as follows:
Code:
2nd 900gp
3rd 1,800gp
4th 2,700gp
5th 3,600gp
6th 4,500gp
7th 5,400gp
8th 6,300gp
9th 7,200gp
10th 8,100gp
11th 9,000gp
12th 9,900gp
13th 10,800gp
14th 11,700gp
15th 12,600gp
16th 13,500gp
17th 14,400gp
18th 15,300gp
19th 16,200gp
20th 17,100gp

When the final decision is made on this character then a new one will be started.

Oh, and all feats and material must come from the Core Rules.

Level 1 Barbarian:

Whenever confronted with a male of at least one size category larger, this barbarian will attempt to start a grapple "Bear Hug" (Pin), because the barbarian's father didn't hug him/her enough as a child.

Strength: 13

Although physically powerful, compared to the average man, our hero found that only by giving in to the rage that bubbled along through his veins could he compete with his childhood friends in games of strength.

First level feat: Combat Casting

Although a combatant type, this guy hung out with the tribal Shamans and is really confused about what he wants to do.

Race: Halfling.

His harsh tempers caused him to withdraw from his caravan, becoming a moody artist. Incidentally, being a halfling causes the bear hug quirk from post #2 to activate more often

4 Ranks Profession: Lawyer

Though seen as having a "frigid" personality and being quite "neanderthal" by his community, the shaman has taught him some of his skills as the town judge to help "warm him up" to the rest of the haflings and even his temper out.

("Now I might only be a simple barbarian... Your fancy 'Magic Missles' and 'Bags of Holding' confuse and frighten me. But I do know what a Masterwork Greatclub costs, and my client deserves NO LESS than 305 pieces of gold for it. Even a ruffian such as myself understands that much.")

He wields a Ranseur, but he calls it an Awl-Pike.

He doesn't really know much about weapons, but he's pretty good at hitting people with whatever he gets his hands on, though he sometimes needs to be reminded that arrows aren't handheld weapons.

4 Ranks intimidate

When other people are not impressed by his small stature or gangly polearm weapon skills, he threatens to sue them for emotional distress. That gets their attention, very quickly.

Dexterity: 7

Although physically powerful, compared to the average halfling, our hero found that only by giving in to the rage that bubbled along through his veins could he compete with his childhood friends in games of dexterity. They usually didn't let him play again.

Sorry, that's not a choice for the stat. The lowest you can pick is 12, modified 14. He now has 11 Strength though.
