Character Design Fighter maybe rouge?

First Post
I am currently in a campaign with the following character

Race: Dwarf

Stats: Str 14 Dex 18 Int 10 Wis 8 Con 16 Chr 6

*Special Condition* Permanent Reduced Person (God's Punishment for conflictinting motive)

Levels

1 FTR1 Dodge (Lvl 1) Mobility (Ftr1)
2 FTR2 Point Blank Shot (FTR2)

I am thinking about expanding to FTR/ROG making him a range character. What would you guys do?

Any advice would be great

I was planning on taking Rogue for the next two levels then switching back to fighter for two more levels then back to Rogue.

What do you think?

Thanks

I have heard from many folks here on the boards that a FTR4/ROGx can be really effective. Getting Weapon Specialization is pretty useful. Personally, I would go for the rogue SA break levels, then switch back to fighter, and back again. The real question is whether you want to max fighter levels or rogue levels long-term. Either choice is OK, but the character will "feel" really different as FTR4/ROG16 versus FTR16/ROG4! ;)

I don't get it. If you want to be a range fighter, why go rogue at all?

yeah, the SA will be neat, but you just don't get it that often at range.

Given the fact that you have picked up PBS, you must be going ranged. I would say stay fighter until you get 4, then you can take spring attack or weapon specialization. After that, I would stick to rogue.

Thanks for the comments everyone

The reason for the rouge is two fold

1) My campaign has very few rogues alot of power attack fighters and barbarians.

2) My Character development I am trying to have the history shape the present and given his size change and other events a more cautious character seems right. His greedy motive got him into this mess

This is my first game in ten years so the whole feat system is a bit new to me.

Why bother with Rogue then Fighter then Rogue, blah, blah, blah, when you can get a mix with just one class.......Martial Rogue from Unearthed Arcana. Basically you lose SA and gain feats as a fighter, it's quite a nice combo.

The reason for the rouge is two fold:

1) My campaign lacks lipstick.

2) My Character development needs mascara.

This is my first game in ten years so the whole facial makeup system is a bit new to me.
