Farmers, blacksmiths, merchants, housewives, and many other commoners dwell in every fantasy game, blending into the background of the adventure...until now.
Character Options: Commoners presents a d20 guide to playing common characters such as the adept, aristocrat, commoner, expert, and warrior (originally known as the NPC classes), along with three new ones: the apprentice, the guardsman, and the scoundrel. Using these common classes, you can enter a game in which motivation is not measured in treasure or fame, but safety and necessity.
Think of this as the reverse of the epic campaign. Play low-level adventures from a new perspective -- your quest is not to rid the world of evil, but to rescue your cousin from bandits, slay evil monsters when adventurers are nowhere to be found, or scour the countryside for the cure to a plague that will wipe out your village.
Included in this latest offering of the Character Options series for the d20 game are revised version of the original classes from core rulebook II , plus three new ones, suggestions on creating and maintaining a common campaign, optional rules for enhancing the game, and a 10-page introductory adventure.
