Character Submission Thread

I APPROVED Meanor Thandgur for play in LPF. Everything looks to be in order and he seems a solid character with no major issues (well, other than those self-inflicted, of course. :) ). Have fun!

As an aside, remember non-judges can earn DMC for helping with the approval process. However, I felt I'd held up Meanor's approval long enough waiting for a peer review so I am putting him into play.

Submitting my first character Rak'tan Veragni for approval http://livingpf.wikia.com/wiki/Rak'tan_Veragni(Trogdor1992)

I took a quick look at Rak'tan. The biggest first issue, and one that effects the rest of the character throughout, is the issue of Ability Score Costs. You need to use table 1-1 from page 16 of core for the costs of your abilities (they grow progressively more expensive at the upper levels). I'll summarize it here:

7 = -4 points
8 = -2 points
9 = -1 points
10 = 0 points
11 = 1 point
12 = 2 points
13 = 3 points
14 = 5 points
15 = 7 points
16 = 10 points
17 = 13 points
18 = 17 points

You'll want to make changes as appropriate and let us know when you have it the way you like it.

it is here on the prd:

Hey sorry about that, I believe I have now properly fixed my ability scores and all the issues related to them

Reviewing Rak'tan Veragni

Forewarning, I'm human, and I occasionally make mistakes. If I did so, please let me know so I can correct it.

TO DO LIST
  • I'm assuming you'll want to choose Fighter as your Favored Class. If so, you need to choose your Favored Class Bonus; either +1 HP or +1 Skill Point
  • The max ranks you can put into a single skill is equal to your level, you had put two ranks in Intimidate and Perception. I reduced these to one, this leaves you with two ranks left to spend on other skills

THINGS I DID
  • I marked your untrained class skills, and removed the plus 3 bonus from them that you had calculated in. You do not receive the bonus until you put at least one rank in that particular class skill
  • Changed your speed in armor from 30' to 20' (Scale Mail)
  • Lots of minor formatting stuff
  • A Greatsword does 1d10 damage, not 2d6. I also added in your Strength bonus on attack and damage rolls with the greatsword
  • Added Armor Proficiency
  • Slight changes to Trait wording for clarity
  • Added Armor Check Penalty to applicable skills, added ability scores to skills, noted source of skill bonuses
  • Fixed finances to account for Carried Gear
  • Corrected Carrying Capacity

THINGS TO CONSIDER
  • Consider deleting the parts of the template that your class does not use (i.e. spells, Class 2 stuff). If you need them in the future you can add them back in
  • Consider fleshing out the background some more. Deeper backstories make for more interesting characters :)

NOT YET fix the skills and favored class bonus and then you'll have my approval

Okay I fixed the skills, putting one each into climb and ride. I also picked fighter with the +1hp for favored class.

Looks good to me. APPROVED You now have one of two approvals. Once a Judge approves it, you're good to go.
Thanks a bunch, after looking into it I realised I put the damage for a large greatsword on accident. Also this is only my second pathfinder character so I was having a slightly hard time with some of the creation stuff, I'm more familiar with 3.5

Yeah, I had the same issues when I first switched over, but give it time and you'll have it down cold. You'll (probably) never go back to 3.5 :p Also, welcome to the world of LPF!
