Characters I'd like to play

My group is breaking up...so who knows when I'll get the chance to do any of this...

1. Lizardman barbarian. Visually inspired by the new "Masters of the Universe" Whiplash action figure. A quietly scary guy who doesn't quite get human emotions and constantly reassures his teammates that if they die, he will give them a proper funeral [i.e., he'll eat the corpse].

2. A Thayan slaver. Been thinking about this ever since I read that there would be a slaver prestige class in "The Unapproachable East." What I have in mind is a Lawful Neutral, largely amoral guy from a truly evil society. He's accustomed to treating those beneath him as property...but he also takes great pains to avoid offending wizards. Depending on the specifics of the prestige class, might be a fighter or a rogue, and this would be interesting with a few ranks of Lasher, too.

3. A rock gnome fighter/breachgnome. Always liked the 2 Ed breachgnome, and playing a three-foot melee specialist appeals to me.

4. A giant-blooded human cleric/runecaster. Ever read "Giantcraft"? From the far reaches of Northern Faerun, a hero who worships giant gods and is culturally akin to the firbolg. And he's about eight feet tall, and most of his skin is etched with runic script.

What about the rest of you? Any ideas floating around?

Over the course of my D&D career, I have (literally) had hundreds of character ideas that I've never gotten to play. Every one of them that I can remember later gets a cameo role as an 'extra' for a scene in some game down the road that I run.

Well, almost every one. There are a few exceptions - the characters that I really want to play. Here's a few of them-

Cortando des Sirrata - A human fighter from a highborn and eccentric family, he stands out amongst the wash of male human fi 1's by having a different take on conflict. He was raised with strange ideas of honor, and believes that no true warrior will wear armor, use a shield, strike a foe down from a distance, or in any way deal with magic - as all of these actions are, at heart, cowardly. He doesn't expect others to live by his code, but he does feel some inner contempt for those who don't choose to abide by his standards. If I were lucky, this character would survive to reach fourth level. Probably not any further than that... but he'd be a lot of fun while it lasted.

Vithiissi - A female sorcerer born from the unlikely union of a goodly dragon and a halfling. Vithiissi is unable to control her magic in any way, unleashing spells as an instinctive response to danger rather than by any consious effort. She's very quiet and unsure of herself, and tends to latch on to charismatic people and try to imitate them, rather than manifesting any real individual personality.

Duurget - The least likely and most doomed of my Tragic Trio, Duurget the Half-Orc wizard is the victim of a mystically-induced delusion that he is destined to be a powerful mage. As a wizard with an Intellegence score of 10, the odds are stacked very heavily against him. But now that he's learned to cast 0th level spells, nothing and no one will ever convince him that he has no aptitude for magic. As far as he's concerned, it's just going to take him a little more effort than most.

Why, o WHY won't anybody let me play these characters?!!

For an epic level game: Paragon Human Monk/Psion, egomaniac that believes himself the only being in the universe worthy of godhood.

for a modern D&D game: He's an urban ranger half-orc, and he's the baddest mother-shut-your-mouth, even though they say he got the SHAFT. Can you dig it?

FOr any game where it would be allowed: Illithid Cowboy.

In a supers game: Kahn Ching, super hero for hire. Yeah, he wants to do the right thing, but he also wants to put food on the table so pay up mortals! His costume would likely be covered with advertisements from endorsers.

Modern fantasy game again: Maralin Manson as a necromancer/vampire.

Character concepts in my mind right now:

The skald, a fighter/bard.

The dwarven paladin.

The rogue with one level of monk (unarmed strike sneak attacks anyone?)
