I dislike gnomes because they're inherently magical, and tend to be played as silly, which doesn't mesh well with the tone I like.

Playin' a gnome wild mage in DL and I can't exactly disagree with the description, even if I find it quite enjoyable myself! (quote from him during the recent adventure: "I'm a liability!"). Though I don't mind mining Lewis Carroll for inspiration, personally.

As far as what characters annoy me?

The gold star is probably "I have no family, I have no friends, I care about no one but myself, all NPC's are idiots, and I need no one."

Mokay, lone wolf, you're a super-serious intense badass, we get it, and it is BORING. Have some connections, have some attachments, have some motivations, have some freakin' personality, man. I don't need Genericles anymore, I'm not 15, that junk is old hat.
