Characters that can only hit one defense

I mean, at some point, we're going to run up against something with an outrageous AC, and then what?

It all depends on your group's play style, but if your DM won't toss things at you that are more than level +5, you'll still be ahead of the curve due to general accuracy that is build in to what you got going so far.

But when in doubt, some ways to increase accuracy:

* utilize CA for a +2 (either through flanking, or from effects on the target, etc)
* if you have another ally who cannot hit the thing -and- would do worse damage than you, see if he is willing to use his standard action to aid another on your attack, thus getting you an untyped +2 (and remember that aid another on attack or defense is automatic, so roll needed, after some errata done last year). Or if that ally would do more damage than you, you aid another for him. aid another on attack (or defense) isn't a great option in general but when accuracy is that important as neither of you could hit on your own, than the coordination to better ensure one of you would hit does make a big difference.
* magic weapons, feats, the usual

But over all, slayers have good accuracy. So I wouldn't be too worried. But any slayer i've seen tends to be able to hit on rolls as low as 6-7 (in general) which is pretty darn good accuracy.

If your DM is really, really tolerant of "this isn't what we had in mind when we designed it" combinations, try to acquire a Master's Blade weapon. For a Slayer (or a Knight or a Scout) it can be quite helpful.

Alternative solution: wield a spear, a light blade, or a pick, and respectively pick up Impaling Spear, Deft Blade, or Piercing Pick for targeting, again respectively, Reflex, Reflex, or Fortitude.

If your DM allows Dark Sun material, and you're not too worried it's cheesy, pick up a Gouge and the aforementioned Impaling Spear, and target Reflex all day long with your 2d6 brutal 1 damage die.

You're a slayer. Awesome. That means you're a melee striker.

Melee strikers generally want to avoid enemy soldiers. If a soldier has you down, you're less likely to be able to pick the real threat targets.

Also, soldiers always have higher AC. Other roles have average or low AC.

So, basicly, the way to avoid your AC problem is to avoid your soldier problem.

In other words... you don't have as much of a problem as you think. Go pound on brutes, artillery, and controllers first. AC doesn't have the same variance as other defenses.. It's pretty well standardized.
