Anyone else have any ideas? I'm looking more for books where the familiars can actively take a part in magic, providing the wizards with assistance; for example, in the Taltos books, Liosh at one point takes over the concentration required for a spell while Vlad did another spell (or another part of the ritual, depending on how you want to look at it). Things like that.
