My next campaign, everyone starts as a Commonner.
At LV 2, they can choose another NPC class.
At LV 3, they can choose a PC class dependant upon their NPC class
E.g.: Commoner goes to Warrior, goes to Fighter, Paladin, Ranger, Barbarian, or Monk
Commonner goes to Adept, goes to Cleric, Wizard, Sorc, Druid, Bard
Commoner goes to Expert, goes to Rogue, Bard, or Ranger
Commonet goes to Aristorcrat, goes to Bard, Wizard, or Paladin
(or something like that...don't have the details worked out).
