Charm person question.

Would there be any instances (non-magical) where the effects of a charm person spell would break after the caster of the spell dies/is killed?

The spell is still in effect then (at least I wouldn't know that spells end with the death of the caster), and it still ends as normal, for example, if any ally of the caster attacks or threatens the target.
