Cheap Eats?

Breakfast used to be much closer in price, but its gotten just as expensive as lunch and dinner.
Speaking of breakfast, my brother and I just got back from a nearby diner. For $12 I got 2 eggs, bacon, sausage and 2 pancakes. The waiter brought out my plate and a second for the pancake, thing was 12" diameter and a 1/4" thick, it was obscenely big. a few minutes later he comes back and asks me if I'd like the second now or to go? I told him there is no way in hell I'm finishing half of the first one let alone any of the second, told him they could keep it.

Sounds like a good deal. My local breakfast diner does a 12 dollar eggs, potatoes, and toast deal. The eggs are to order but they do an American fry style potato. They are actually pretty excellent, but the portion is like 7 potatoes worth on a single plate. I can never finish them, and I dont take them home.

A lot of restaurants do brunch here and so it’s not cheap ($15-20 CAD) but for my money the best value breakfast (apart from Tim’s breakfast deals, starting at $6) is Taiwanese breakfast at Bubble World. The deep fried fish cutlet platter is $17.50 and nearly enough for two.

Cheapest meal here is about the same price. But currency conversion rate its about half no tip rewuired. It will be a small portion though.

Going out for breakfast today. Idk where we are going but I expect it to cost around $14 usd for a plate.

It was a decent deal, but the pancake was so big and dense that it tasted like wallpaper paste. Sometimes quantity doesn't equal quality. But overall, it was a good breakfast, and their menu was pretty large. First time I went there.

Although there are exceptions, but as a general rule of thumb if I'm going out for a sit-down meal that isn't an upscale high-end restaurant, a meal and tip for myself alone I'm expecting to spend at least $25-$30 USD. For example, a burger and fries is about $18, a drink is $4-$5 on average. so, with a tip, as long as the service is was good, I'll just leave $30.

I don't usually eat breakfast so I can't really give an accurate comparison for my area, a croissant or some other Viennoiserie and a cup of coffee is about 14 USD. Maybe 2 pastries depending on which neighborhood the bakery is in.

Yeah, my usual breakfast is something very light. I only get breakfast occasionally on weekends. I'd kill for a decent baguette but none to be found around the twin cities.

I'm pretty spoiled for choice with nice bakeries, but up until last week most of them were in parts of the city with terrible parking. But one just opened about two blocks away, so I can just walk there and grab something (and save money not buying coffee, since I can just go back home and make a cup).

Breakfast. Basically our take on a big Breakfast.

Wasn't cheap more typical here. Home made hash browns with herbs was great. Had an extra mushroom. I'm not a fan of mushroom or baked beans but can eat them occasionally.

$15--16 USD approx.

Last weeks breakfast. Around $14-15. Different place.
