Cheap Eats?

Closest thing to the first picture near me is at an Irish pub that does an all day breakfast, I think it was about 20 USD the last time I was there, but that was pre COVID so probably at least 25 USD now.

Cheapest slop here. Pancakes are $16.50 (usd under $9). Big breakfast is $24 ($13.20) but can be as low as $11 on Thursday.

Chorizo sausages, bacon, mushrooms, corn fritters, 2 eggs, bread, half a tomato, hash browns.

Before 9am coffee for $2.20 usd large flat white/cappuccino/latte.

They got mentioned in an article for cheapest breakfast in the country about $6usd for eggs on toast.

Cheapest I've found. Obe of my favorite grills, coffee places and pancakes (not overwhelming or sweet).
Very close to D&D venue 3 minute walk.

Speaking of breakfast, my brother and I just got back from a nearby diner. For $12 I got 2 eggs, bacon, sausage and 2 pancakes. The waiter brought out my plate and a second for the pancake, thing was 12" diameter and a 1/4" thick, it was obscenely big. a few minutes later he comes back and asks me if I'd like the second now or to go? I told him there is no way in hell I'm finishing half of the first one let alone any of the second, told him they could keep it.
There’s a place about 15 minutes drive away from me called Ham & Eggs. I don’t know if they’re particularly inexpensive or not, but they certainly DON’T skimp on portions. You SHOULD NEVER go there thinking you’re going to clean your plate unless you’re a competitive eater.

Their stack or 3 pancakes is approximately the size of a standard round cake. I saw a stack passed around a table like one, too, with everyone taking a wedge. My 6’ tall, 300lb cousin thought he’d kill a stack along with his eggs & bacon. He took 2 home in a pizza box.

The biscuits in their plate of biscuits & gravy are about the size of half a loaf of sliced white bread. The last time I ate there, a father & son (both over 6’) ordered individual meals, and were stunned by the son’s B&G. I finished my meal before they did, so I didn’t see how they fared, but they were sharing the biscuits.

We have fresh water walleye here in the midwest U.S. I like it better than cod.

Based on prices Zard is sharing, we are probably about double that after tip. Breakfast used to be much closer in price, but its gotten just as expensive as lunch and dinner.
Yes! Fish Fries are a big thing in Milwaukee and I always look for the ones that do local fish.

One thing I saw cheaper than here was CiCis buffet for around $10 usd.

Can't get that here at that price. Even if CiC's is meh it looked ok, dessert, drink, pasta and salad bar at that price.12 pizzas to pick from including dessert pizza apple. Haven't seen thst since 2001ish here.

NYC $1 slice looks like $1.50 now.

No idea how those U.S. pizza buffets stay open at those prices. The food must be practically poison.

Some people will remember this while some will scratch their heads. 1990 Eastern United States, Perkins had a few breakfast specials, the Thrilling Three, the Fabulous Four, The Spectacular Five and the Sensational Six. Right around the time "Cowboys From Hell" came out. We moved my mother from one place to the next and when we were done, she took us to Perkins. So my 2 brothers, my cousin and friend entered into a contest, who could eat 2 Sensational Sixes. 6 eggs, 6 sausage, 6 bacon, 6 toast, hashbrowns and 6 pancakes. They all ordered 2, and John....finished both plates.

I don't have much experience with Cici's because I grew up in Mr. Gatti's territory but the pizzas at those places are fine. They're about the same quality as the big national chains but potentially a much better deal depending on how many slices of pizza you eat. I assume the people who go in and eat a slice or two outnumber the people who go there and load up.
I don't eat at buffets now unless I go home to visit family though, all the ones I've had in my part of California are either good but too expensive or terrible and still too expensive. There was an Indian place that did a 10 dollar lunch buffet but they stopped during the pandemic.
