Check Out This Early Arcana Unleashed Artwork

Today, Wizards of the Coast announced Arcana Unleashed and Arcana Unleashed: Deadfall, a new magic-themed book and campaign featuring the Red Wizards of Thay. Here's an early look at some of the artwork that will be appearing in the two books:

Something about that elf necromancer in the second image looks off, like the elf isn't quite part of the overall picture. Otherwise, some cool art, I'm on team "That dragonborn looks cool".

I do like the alt cover for Deadfall, but definately not the alt Ravenloft. Undecided for Arcana, it reminds me of the 3E "book" covers.

I like almost all the art, though for the float enchantress, wish that had been Sigil in the background; the Escher-like background seems off.

I'd like the Dragonborn picture if part of the staff wasn't floating like it was made by a gemstone dragon. Otherwise, I love the look of his familiar.

Could it be that the art depicts the sarrukh, the scaly progenitor race of Faerûn?

Probably not. But hope springs eternal.

I'd like the Dragonborn picture if part of the staff wasn't floating like it was made by a gemstone dragon. Otherwise, I love the look of his familiar.

The staff made me laugh because yesterday I was looking up some Common magic items to put in a shop for my players and this is one that I found.

I decided to not put that one in the shop because it was too silly.
The Dread Helm however is definitely not silly, and will be very available for them to buy.
