Today, Wizards of the Coast announced Arcana Unleashed and Arcana Unleashed: Deadfall, a new magic-themed book and campaign featuring the Red Wizards of Thay. Here's an early look at some of the artwork that will be appearing in the two books:

For Thay, current lore from memory is that Thayan’s normally shave and tattoo themselves. Hair is generally considered ugly in Thayan culture

Edit:Thayans who are abroad will grow out their hair if they don’t have trusted servants to shave them on hand.

I do like the alt cover for Deadfall, but definately not the alt Ravenloft. Undecided for Arcana, it reminds me of the 3E "book" covers.

I like almost all the art, though for the float enchantress, wish that had been Sigil in the background; the Escher-like background seems off.

the one with the gold dragon in the background? I really like thst one.
