Chicago Area FLGS

Hi there,

Speaking as someone who has been to both Games Plus and the Source, they are virtually counterparts for one another. Games Plus can be a real pain to get to from throughout the Chicagoland area, but there isn't really any way around that. I would say, though, that it's worth the drive if you make an event of it. It's got a supply of miniatures, terrain, backlist RPGs, new products, and peripheral books very much like that of the Source.

While the Source is associated with Atlas Games and Fantasy Flight up here in the Cities, Games Plus is connected (you could say) to Creative Mountain games and known for hosting the stellar EN World Game Day gatherings for the Chicagoland area.

Simply put, Games Plus is Chicago's Source. It's what you're looking for.

Will

Hiya Will! :)

They sure have been helpful to me, CMG, and the Chicago Gamedays. They're great people (especially Curt "thalmin" who is a personal friend.) Will you possibly be in town late October/early November for the next Gameday? It'd be great if you could make it!

I have been to Games Plus. My wife, two of the gang and I made a trip last evening.

It IS most certainly exactly what I have been looking for.

It IS what all of the above have said it is.

I can't for the life of me remember the name of the man who introduced himself at the store. Curt may have been the name. No matter who he is he clearly reads these forums, as he mentioned having seen this thread. HI! Anyway he seemed awesome judging by my ef contact with him so far.

Since the store was quite a trip I kind of had my heart set on buying something I had not intended to buy. I am not sad to say that I have to go back there now, since I could not make up my mind exactly what to impluse purchase that trip.

Mark - Hey! Are you hijacking this thread? ;) :p

I guess not, since it's safe to say this thread is really all about Games Plus now. :D

Look at me, I'm up to one thread and like five replies! Whee! When do I graduate from lurker?

Just sharing the LUV, Brother. Glad you had a cool trip. :)

Some think the number barrier where you can no longer claim lurker status is about three digits. :D

3d6+15,

I am glad that you enjoyed your trip to Games Plus. The staff is always quite friendly, and knowledgeable.

I should say the internationally famous Games Plus. I was chatting online once with zouron, an EN World member who lives in Denmark, and mentioned that Games Plus is the site of the Chicago Gamedays. He asked if it is the hobby shop near the railroad tracks. It turns out he visited the store a few times on his way back from Gen Cons in Milwaukee.

3d6+15, yes. That was me. I am sorry to admit that I cannot remember the names of you or your crew. (I'm really terrible with names.)
But thank you for coming out. I'm glad you weren't disappointed.

William, that is so cool. Internationally famous, huh? I like the sound of that. :D
