Oh, yes, I played that adventure--with my (not-so) mightly halfling monk--it was my first non-Highfolk (Wisconsin) regional mod. What I remember most was Cam's character got arrested and then got into a brawl with his cellmate while he was locked up in the jail. :p

Wasn't that one of those situations where the rogue went sneaking off and the last thing he said to the party was advice not to split up? ("i.e. "Stick together, I'll be right back...") :p

Yes! :D

As I recall, as the four-hour slot was winding down, we were just getting to the main plot of the modue!

Quick, someone queue the music to "Memories" for Mark and Kent

While we're strolling down memory lane--and while I'm avoiding doing my research paper for History 200--I'd like to say I remember the game as well, though I had nothing to do with it. I was but a wee junior in high school and remember sitting at William Ronald's table at the very first gameday with my friend ed and eric noah among others. Our table was right next to Mark's RPGA game--or maybe it just seemed that way since he's so damn loud ;)--and I remember thinking to myself as I overheard Mark--really, pretty hard to ignore ;)--that he seemed like a pretty entertaining GM.

Little did I know I'd have the pleasure of gaming with him on numerous occaisions afterward--he's definitely one of my DMing idols/role models. *cue "awwwwwww" from audience *

As for the idea of minigames, I think it's a pretty neat idea--it gives you the option to try a few short things in one slot and pick something that you really want to play in the other slot. I think we're fairly full on GMs as is, but if we wound up wanting more maybe I could run one of the short things.

If someone else would run another two-fer in the morning slot, we could give players the option of 'mixing and matching' the minigames. I was planning on having separate player sign-up lists for each of m minigames, anyway.

I think that Mark makes a lot of good arguments about the viability/desirability of RPGA events at Gameday. Lords knows I don't know jack about RPGA stuff, so I'm happy to defer to his wisdom. :)

Ultimately, however, I'm happy to see Gameday host whatever events local ENWorlders want to run. That's really my focus: this particular online community. E.g., I wouldn't want to seek out some RPGA folk to run an event just to bring in warm bodies (Mmm... bodies...). I just want Gameday to be an event where ENWorld locals (and not-so-locals) can get together, play some cool games, make new friends, and buy some swag. Whether they want to do that under the aegis of the RPGA or some other organization is fine by me.

The RPGA fee issue Mark mentioned, however, is sort of a sticky wicket. Still, I'd guess players would be aware of that going in.

As with good gaming in general, the prime directive of Gameday, as I see it, is simply: Would it be fun? If so, let's do it.*

*As long as it does not harm the person or property of a non-consenting other, of course. :)

Buzz, feel free to change my listed event to...

GAMEDAY DOUBLE FEATURE: "Romiet & Juleo", Skull & Bones d20, and "Order 66", Star Wars d20 (Pbartender)
Done! This will be an interesting experiment. Kudos for stepping forward, Pb.

You guys are silly.

:)

I am pretty stoked about the mini-game idea.

I am completely neutral about RPGA, but only because I have never played a RPGA game. It is all just D&D to me, I guess...

Just to be clear, when someone orders and sets-up a "game day" there is NO fee, for anyone. The games are FREE to play.

To those who are interested, and have RPGA memberships, my buddy found out that DUNGEON Magazine adventures can also count to your "RPGA points."

For me, I could care less whether someone runs RPGA events or not, I won't be, but I wanted to make that i thought it be important that people feel encouraged to run something, anything, that they will feel confident about running.

While I feel obligated to do so...having opened my (big fat) mouth about the idea...i won't! HA! ;) Seriously, I have my games set in my mind and BUZZ and THALMIN will hit me on the dome with frozen tunas and salmons were I to change my entry's yet again. ;)

Maybe the next Game Day I will do a special four-part, yet seperate adventure thing that will be reminescent of the "serial days." I'll do it in a way that will be one story, four "acts" and will use a different system for each of the four runs. That should be fun to work out!
