After being swamped with a few things in the offline world, I am back! I concur with Mark and Barendd Nobeard about running RPGA events. I play in some every now and then (mostly the local cons at College of DuPage, my time for RPGs being a little limited at the moment). GamesPlus really does not have the room for large scale RPGA events. However, we should not discourage anyone who is interested in running a game from doing so.
Additionally, I think the idea of mini-games is quite helpful. It might be a good idea to have people register for them separately. This would allow someone who might not make the start of the first slot an opportunity to game. Demos and other events might also fill such a need, as well as giving people something to do in case a slot wraps up early.
The events look great, and I will find myself making tough decisions about what to play. There are many excellent DMs already signed up and perhaps we should discuss if there is room to add another table or two in the morning or the afternoon.
I think that when the sign up thread is started that we should mention it on other boards, such as the C.O.W.S. Gamers RPGA forums, Mortality.net, and elsewhere. This way we might attract a few new people to the Gameday. (Meeting new people is one of the most enjoyable aspects of the Gameday.)
