So you are a player in a new homebrew campaign, or you are a DM creating his own homebrew (fantasy). The idea is that the core races would be featured, but one aditional race (or maybe two or three - no more) will be added. So, which one race would you like the most to see added to elves, dwarves, gnomes, etc.?

Also tell if you usually prefer to play core races, or new exotic ones.

Githyanki - I've always like'd them. I don't know if it's the psionics or the silver swords or what but they've always struck me an interesting race. I don't like the fact that they were stuck with a -2 wisdom adjustment (I'd probably change it to charisma) but other than that I think they wiould deffinitely add a different flavor to any setting.

The ologatu from Wildwood- it is a survival machine on land and water. The few characters I have played are human (more due to DMs who didn't allow my first choices).

I voted "brutish" because it can include some "tank" elements without being game-breaking. Basically I think you need a big, strong race that isn't included in the core 5. In my own game it's orcs (half-orcs aren't really around enough to count).

Just one? I would say either a lizard / draconic race or a "tank" type. From what was presented I would say I like the mojh the best because they are a transormed race. You need to choose to be a mojh and severe all ties to your previous community.

Following the Arcana Evolved theme, I also really like the theme of the Giants and the Sibeccai. A beastial race with a reason to be there and strong, wise creators who (irritatingly) actually do know best.

I voted "Other". I'd like to see the half-giants from Dark Sun. I like the idea of a race that is bigger, to offset all the small races (I know dwarves are technically medium in the size categories, but they're still short). But the half-giants aren't so big as to be unwieldly. The goliaths from Races of Stone would work, too, with some alterations to remove the level adjustment.

My personal fave race is the Feral Gargun, from Races of Stone. It's a monster race with a few savage elements to it. Really, I like the race a helluva lot more than, say, the goliaths from the same book.

Voted beast. For me, personally shifter are the most interesting nonstandart race out there. So far every game I DMed or played in that offered them had at least one in it. My current group has two, one of which is the replacement for another shifter.
