Last year I took advantage of Fantasy Flights great deal on books and bought one for each member of my group. Now however, I have established a gift precedent.

I thought I might buy something for the group as a whole though, then see if anyone wanted to chip in:

Any thoughts on good gifts for a whole D&D group? (+5 weapons all around!)

I bought my group a bottle of malt whisky and some dark chocolate last December. Suddenly everyone wanted the game at their house, or wanted a lift to the game...

Cheers,
Liam

P.S. I don't like whisky, so it wasn't a "Homer's bowling ball".

Group gifts?

Tact-Tiles

Steel Sqwire spell templates

D&D minis (unless you have a painter in the group and he's willing to paint the minis)

Dwarven Forge dungeon settings.

Gift certificates for the group for a local pizza place/eatery.

Tact tiles!!

I have to agree with this also. In fact, we did the opposite and I got all the other players to chip in and pick up these up for our DM. Since he provides the house to play at, the food about 75% of the time, and of course takes the responsibility of running the game I thought we owed him something ;)

We got him the Expanded 12-tile kit (with the box just in case we have to game somewhere else sometime) and one of the 3-tile expansion sets so that we have the same playing surface as his battlemat. At only $15 for each player, I thought it was reasonable. Now we will just have to see if he likes the idea :heh: I'm not sure how attached he is to his battlemat, which he covers with a large sheet of plexiglass and uses wet-erase markers.

That reminds me, I have to pick up some dry erase markers for the tactiles before our game session tomorrow when we give him the gift :)
