I can assure you that the map HAS changed since the 3rd edition. Look it up.

Yes I know it has changed, and I was replying to Enevhar Aldarion. But at our table, it has not, and yet the Realms are still not static.

If it was recently uplifted, I would expect all of the uplifted land to be a desolate, stinking, swampy expanse with no major settlements to speak of. It doesn't seem that's the case, so color me unimpressed with the cataclysms.

It hasn't been uplifted. It's been magically transferred from one dimension to another.
