Khairi

*The boy shakes his head.*

"Oh no, I'm not an adventurer. I...where do I go to deliver," he shifts his satchel slightly, "I have a bounty to deliver...on the murderer who shot my father. I have wanted posters too, with a sketch on them to put up."

Khairi points to the bar. Joe there can help you with that my boy. I am sure you are in the right place though.

Khairi then goes out the door. I am off to see to some gear for the tournament.

A moment later Rhys the goblin enters from upstairs.

Rhys

Rhys approaches the boy. Are you in need of assistance? I may be in mind to help if you explain what has happened and what you require.

Rhys examines the boys poster. Your father was slain you say? Tell me how? And why would this man do this?

"My father was a hardworking servant. His killer was a scoundrel and a murderer, sir. Have you ever heard the saying 'don't shoot the messenger'? My father served as a messenger for the local lord, inviting some new adventurers to come dine with him and be rewarded for supposedly slaying a dragon, since that seemed like a heroic act. My father and the lord never suspected that those adventurers were not heroes at all but simply murderers who plundered for treasure and the joy of killing. Indeed, the dragon they had killed was a silver dragon, as evidenced from the bloody trophies they took from the body, gleaming silver to hide the blackness of one heart in particular. This man was an archer, and he shot my defenseless father twice--in the back! As you can see on the poster, his name is Anton Brandovold," at this point the boy is crying, "Please, the local lord has posted a reward for any true heroes who will slay the foul murderer who left my mother without a husband...and me without a father."

My dear boy. You may count on my sword to seek this man and you may keep my share of the reward for yourself and your mother. How many men does your Lord believe you will need to bring this villain to justice?

"Thank you good sir! You are indeed a generous and wonderful hero, just as we had heard in stories and expected of the dragonslayers before we discovered their true nature. Well, let me see...the killer and his accomplices were strong enough to kill a dragon, which put Zephos's fear in all of the guards. They have like six people, I think, so maybe if you have around six you could win, or less maybe if you're strong. Milord said he thinks he knows where the villain is headed--they have a huge head start on you, but they are traveling in heavy armour and without horses, so with horses you could be able to catch up."

If this group has slain a silver dragon they will not be easy to overcome. I think the more the better. They must be a experienced group with skills complimenting one another.

"I hurt they basically killed it while it was sleeping, so there is some hope. A skilled group of true heroes could defeat them because you'd have justice on your side."

Bran Olvant, Treasure Hunter Extraordinaire

"Did someone ask for true heroes?" he says as he strides over to the boy.

He extends a hand to the boy. "Bran Olvant, Treasure Hunter Extraordinaire and True Hero, at your service."
