Rinaldo think a moment. "Is there a way to counter that? The more we talk, the less I feel this world is a safe place for my children..."

"Well, according to Urdryn the Crimson, that theory is inaccurate, so you might not need to worry. He did some experiments on it too. He said that while negative energy wells from undead are indeed harmful and can created temporarily tainted or corrupted areas, that it was impossible for them to lead to an imbalance and collapse the towers' flow."

"I am surprised to hear that anyone sane would actually put that theory on the test. But it appears to be wrong, then. But even if it is true, positive energy should be capable of negating or weakening such areas. So, as long as the gods are on our side..."

"From what I read in the fun note-book journal, Urdryn the Crimson was not quite sane, by most standards. Smart guy, but not quite sane," Laynie giggles and takes a bite of her caramel apple.

"Ah. I suspected as much. I see I really need to pay the Academy a visit one day. The wealth of knowledge it appears to have amassed must be astonishing. My mentor did not have many arcane tomes despite seeming to be a master at his craft. At least not in Otun..."

"I think every Wizard should go there--it's definitely the best place to learn stuff," Laynie agrees.

*The door opens and a commoner in farm clothes enters the inn.*

"Is this that Red Dragon place what has all the adventurer types?" he asks.

Im no fan of undead. Dae interjects, The only proper way to come back from death's door is to be raised with good magicks. Anything else just isnt natural.

Dae takes a moment to ponder the morality of using undead to do good things in the world. He decided that this would take much more thought than he was willing to give it at this time.

"Uhh, I guess you guys look like adventurers," the man in farm clothes looks around at all the unusual people, "Is there anyone here who can help out?"

Eanos turns from the conversation to the farmer at the door, saying, "What sort of aid is it your seek, sir?"

"The haunted tower has returned," the farmer says, "Those who went there in search of the powerful arcane treasures have never returned, even doughty adventurers, but it puts the town in danger by being there...I wish someone could help with it."

(OOC: Note--if you are lower than level 5 (4 and close to leveling might be okay), you are likely to perish on this adventure. You can come along, but you will probably end up a broken corpse ;))
