Kerrz tips back the last of his water and, feeling sober enough for atleast a bit of planning and talking, he give Joe a nod and takes his leave towards the room indicated.

Nurlan, human bard

Some time after the other adventurers left for Ravensdale, a large swarthy man rides up. After hitching his horse to the post outside, he opens his pack and takes out a magnificent purple cloak monogrammed with the letters FAJ.

If your character comes by while Nurlan is wearing or showing the cloak, and you have ranks in Knowledge (nobility+royalty) or Bardic Knowledge, make a DC 18 check to read the following: [sblock]The purple cloak bears the initials FAJ, and is the same hue as the official flag of Monemvassia. This is surely the one originally created about 100 years ago for the royal duke Ferdinand Ajax Jara. This duke was the admiral of the navy in his day, and successfully kept the shipping lanes free of pirates for several decades. Despite his success, he was always somewhat timid, and requisitioned the cloak to increase his control over his sailors. Ferdinand was lost at sea at the ripe old age of 60. There was no bad weather, and it’s not clear how he met his end. It is a cloak of Charisma, probably of the minor type, +2.
[/sblock]

He puts the cloak on and enters. After greeting Joe, whom he has obviously met before, he turns to the crowd and begins to sing in a bass voice with fine rhythmic and melodic sense (Perform(song) check: 17+10=27)

I'll sing for friendship
I'll sing for my supper
I'll sing for the party
I'll sing for love

For music and song are the greatest of treasures
To soothe and relax, entertain or to woo
Ballads and epics, romances and all
The whole world over, to nourish the soul

For dukes and for peasants
For soldiers and wizards
For gnomes, orcs and hobbits
For guildsmen and kings
For ladies and courtiers
For mourners or lovers
For all of your friends
And for you I will sing!

Eroin, Elf Monk

A tall elven woman garbed in apparel that gives the term "rags" a bad name enters the inn. She is ushered towards the owner. Seeming uneasy, she proffers her hand for a friendly handshake, and addresses the gathered individuals. "I am Eroin, of the Ironwood Hand. I am a traveler, seeking to spread justice wherever there is little." Even this short speech seemed almost beyond her abilities; it was obvious that it had been a long while since she had had occasion to speak.

Nurlan, human bard

Nurlan looks to the elf to acknowledge her presence. Although several of the patrons seem to enjoy his song of greeting, they all seem too occupied with their respective companions or solitary beverages to strike up a conversation. He therefore decides to try with Eroin.

"Pleased to meet you", he says. "I'm Nurlan, and I -- well, mostly I sing, although lately I seem to be branching out into other occupations. Care to join me?" He is still wearing the purple cloak.

(For the new players, please don't forget to email Nimisgod and me so that we can approve your characters. If you did, and your character does not yet appear on the list in the first post of the character thread, don't be afraid to nag us about it.)

Eanos, Human Monk

The door to the inn opens, and a broad-shouldered, dark-haired, bearded human enters. At first glance, he seems a common enough woodsman, all dark and neutral tones to his clothing and traveling cloak, a simple quarterstaff serving as a walking stick. But as his cloak swings open with his stride, the flash of metal from sais strapped to each leg speaks to more exotic disciplines.

"I'm Eanos," he tells the patrons at Joe's urging. "I'm a ... well, I'm traveling to find the truths of the world. I'd heard this was a good place to look for the kinds of ... adventures, I suppose, that might lead to a few truths of the more well-concealed variety.

"Besides,"
he continues, a shy smile sneaking onto his features as he takes a plain drink to an empty chair "One of the first truths is that a man needs to pay his bills, and I hear this place is good for finding a few tasks that help there, as well."

Eroin gave the bard an uncomfortable smile of acknowledgement, and requested a cup of tea from the bartender. She sat on a stool at the bar, cross-legged, and stated, simply, "I'd be glad to."

Mordik Stoutiron

A bedraggled-looking dwarf with messy brown hair and a disheveled brown beard walks into the Red Dragon Inn. He finds an open chair at the bar, orders an ale, and looks around.
[smallcaps]I hear this be the place fer adventurers lookin' fer some work. Mordik's me name. Anyone looking for a troubleshootin' dwarf?[/smallcaps]

Nurlan, human bard

Nurlan extends his greeting to the truthseeker and the dwarf. "Welcome, Eanos and Mordik. Why don't you join us? I'm Nurlan, this is Eroin. You all sound like you're new to this place."
