"Perhaps you should show him, Ruud," says Taelythenihel, who has returned to her seat next to the gnome, though without her servant.

Quozen looks around. "Never mind that, what is this 'settled down' thing about?"

He turns back to Abdul and bows. "In any case, human ways are strange to us, and we are foreigners in this land. I am Quozen Ilphukiir, of the Monastic Order of the Nightingale, of the Lands of Fire. Come, let us sit and eat together. Waters flow freely here; let us enjoy and partake."

"I would be delighted. I am Abdul Alhazred, a wandering wizard and student of strange monsters, which I would like to see but have only read about.

Valdaris turns to see where the voice emanated from, coming to rest his eyes on the gnome,"Ahhh. And you are one of those, are you, little one, with their services to offer? What are your talents?"
Ruud takes a bow, "I have the ability to see that ones of greater mass are affected by downward motion all the more intensely."

Ruud (male gnome illusionist) chuckles, "Get in line. The next person who comes in looking to hire will have to beat off the prospects with a stick."

Elthic laughs - or rather, rumbles. "Well said, master gnome! I rather hope our employer comes in the door when everyone else is taking a pee break, so I can get to the front of the line!"

Valdaris replies to what seems like a challenge from the belligerent little humanoid with his usual indifference. “Bigger they are, ‘arder they fall. Eh?... well, good luck to ya on the back o’ that.”

He drops into a seat at the first available table and takes a full swig of his ale, regarding the gnome dressed in his ‘outlandish gear in reds, yellows and blues that should never go together… two scrolls tucked into his belt and a dagger and light crossbow that appear to be little used’ and his unusually thin, dwarven companion who seems much less like a carnival.

"You’ll ‘ave nothing to fear from me, little one. By the looks of it, you’re some kind of magic weilder. A bard or a mage perhaps. As you can tell, I’ve little interest in glamors!”

"He is a mage, and, I can assure you, a fine one, as am I," says Taelythenihel.

OOC: Valdaris is a L1 Fighter in search of an assignment. Tonight even. Just something to put some coin in his near-empty pockets. He has absolutely no qualms about dealing with those of ‘questionable’ ethics.
OOC: Hmm... sounds like a good adventuring companion for Taelythenihel. Not that she is ethically dubious, but circumstances have conspired against her.

Ruud smiles, "I was never afraid, but I forget my manners. My name is Ruud von Nistelrooy, at your service. You are correct on one count, I am a practitioner of the arts arcana."

The druid was held is stasis by some sort of magical incantation, he was still, as his viperine animal partner. Suddenly he escapes from his paralysis.

-Oh my goddess... what a headache... - he rubs his forehead.

"Also depends on how much someone wants to pay and for doing what. If the money is good enough I can take a good stick beating...Better then most." he then sighs as he stares at his tankard. "Though the longer I wait the more my standards...shall we say...lower. A tactic I usually employ with woman!"

“Then I am pleased to meet you, master gnome. It’s not every day that I speak with those of your ilk, so your ways are mostly unknown to me... “So, a pair of wizards and a dwarf. I see that you are somewhat acquainted. How is it that you came to be in this place?” The human takes another swig of his ale before placing it back on the table in front of him, before making a wide, sweeping gesture with his right hand about the inn itself, before returning to his tankard of ale once again.

Though he had paid her little regard before, Valdaris’ eyes come to rest on the diminuitive gray elf, lingering for a moment as he tries to determine her position in all this. ‘Her white hair is parted centrally and falls straight on each side of her thin face. Her eyes are cold. She dresses in undecorated white linen kept spotlessly clean... Outwardly she appears detached and arrogant, as so many gray elves.’ Still forming an opinion, Valdaris makes no further comment. Instead, he regards some other patrons of the inn who have just caught his attention.

[OOC: Likewise, Trouvere. Valdaris is a mercenary and something of a career criminal, though he would just as easily work for a well-meaning employer. Provided it wasn’t volunteer work, of course].
