Boddynock said:"Ah yes, the pay."
Thorne nods, leans back against the bar and crosses his arms.
"I'll pay 5 gp a week, or part thereof. Your food is supplied. Those of you who can ride will be loaned horses for the time. The others can ride on the wagons. The trip should take no more than a week, all up. Of course, if there are ... complications ... along the road, they are yours to deal with as you will."
[sblock=OOC]The weekly wage for an unskilled labourer is 1.5 gp. What Thorne is offering is the equivalent of the income of a skilled craftsman. Any loot from defeated random encounters is the party's.
This is definitely for first level characters. I'm reliably informed that there are a swag of other adventures in the offing - although they do seem lamentably delayed! I'll leave those of you higher level characters to come up with your own reasons for not coming along.[/sblock]
Thorne smiles at the barbarian's response. "Madder and thriftier than you know. I said 5 gp a week, not 5 gp a day. So, Kol is not coming. Anyone else?"hero4hire said:Kol burst into raucous laughter. "All of this Guile and Deception for a job that pays 5 gold a day?! Thorne you are either the maddest man I have met or the thriftiest. Mayhaps both!
I am sure many of the younglings here, who have barely been weened from thier mother's teet will enjoy taking your offered wage. When you have an Evil Ogre who needs slaying or a Town who needs saving remember the name Kol Axbjorn and come with a heavier purse! HAHAHA!!! 5 gold a day!!!" Kol goes back to his drinking a broad grin of amusement on his face.
OOC: Ah well..Too bad. I rather liked your DM style thus far Boddynock.

"Does that mean you have something to fear from the City Watch? Hmm - I assure you, there is nothing untoward in my cargo. And so long as you do nothing to prejudice the Watch, I have no interest in your past, either."Deus Ex Machina said:“I could do with some time outside the city, so I will aid you… but if there is anything more than a routine inspection by the City Watch, I’ll see that amount doubled. Call it insurance. Do we have a deal?”
OOC: I know that it's not even worth haggling over, but after Kol’s comment, Valdaris cannot accept the terms offered without denting his ego. Though he would happily go on the adventure.
Drerek said:Ruud smiles, "That was a good trick you pulled. I'm willing to give it a shot."
Trouvere said:Taelythenihel rises and bows. "If this is your test for a simple escort mission, I hope I am not around when you search for adventurers willing to quest for a lost sceptre of a lich-king, or the like. Nevertheless, I am most interested. I would appreciate time outside a city, and I have previously made the acquaintance of Ciprinus and Ruud, and welcome the chance to work and travel alongside them. My servant Ossa here, though silent, is loyal and hard-working. She would not require individual payment."
"So then, we have four. Good. But what of you others? All silent? Perhaps you just like sitting here, drinking Joe's ale."Voda Vosa said:-I prefere 5 gp a week, than 0 gp a day- says Ciprinus. -I'm in-
