Taelythenihel smiles thinly. "Ah, so you noticed, as did the half-orc, that this was merely a figment in the form of Ossa. I... apologise for the attempt at deception. I wished to see the reaction of those present to her unfortunate appearance."

OOC - or establish an alibi for Ossa's concealment. :p

[Sblock=Solange: ]Distribute the money in a way that Shadya deems fair. Keep in mind that Hayder will probably add to the sum once they get to Sairundan. If I strongly disagree with you, I'll let you know. [/sblock]

Taelythenihel locks eyes with Kurgahz. A message passes between them. Her eyebrows knit. She speaks to him, perhaps surprisingly, in the language of his father: "Your will is strong, I see. I make trial of those here, to see how they react to illness and deformity."

Kurgahz hears her speak in the tongue of his father and nearly misses what she actually says due to his rising anger. Her excuses matter not though. The last time he heard Orcish spoken was from his father begging for his life as Kurgahz raised high the greatclub to deliver a killing blow. His rising tide of emotions and memory of the blood that flowed that day is only stirred further as Shadya speaks about him being trouble around her people due to some war with ORCS!

His reason shouts inside his head with a small voice which tells him that he shall have no job, no adventure, and no life if he starts beating on the patrons of this Inn. He mumbles some excuse about stretching his legs and waiting outside before bolting for the door and barreling past a puny human trying to enter the Inn.

"This is an interesting offer. While a trip to the desert sounds interesting, this doesn't seem like the sort of thing the dragon warned us about. In either case, I need to see what Richard thinks first."
Richard stood by the door, slowly gearing up with his small armory of weapons and protective equipment. Startled out of his reverie at hearing his own name, he turns back to those he knows at the bar with a slight frown. Walking back to Lasair and Rinya, Richard tries to appear less "out of it" than he was, "So, what's the deal with the desert trip?"

"Sairundan. Never heard of it. Long way, though, eh?" Rowan asks, approaching Shadya. "Dangerous? I'd take work as a bodyguard. But the pay should be right and the adventure good. I've been party to killing zombies, land sharks, a were-tiger, winter wolves, brain moles, and other terrible beasts. I fear no desert."

Rae [sblock]Actually Rowan might be better off sticking with Rinya and Richard for a combat centric adventure. But I might let it be determined by RP considerations. And party balance. I'm also completely open to your suggestions. Thanks for stepping up & running a couple more. I loved your first adventure.[/sblock]

Rinya's mouth drops at this news, obviously fooled by the deception.

"Shadya is hiring an escort to accompany her to the desert. It seems a good venture but I am not sure this is a job we should take. I didn't want to commit without hearing your opinion, so...what do you think?"

[sblock=ooc]I'm torn on this. We could take this one or wait for the next one, though I'm leaning towards waiting and heading out with Manz again[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]Party Balance wise, we have a 1st level cleric, a 1st level human paragon (heading for wariorishness), and the meat shield, a 4th level telepath. We need 2 more, one of which may be a necromancer, but that isn't looking promising for RP reasons. Not sure I want to introduce daddy to my friend as his skeleton. IF we take her, we'd definately need another side of beef. Trouvere, Conuld might work well.[/sblock]
Solange smiles and answers Rowan, "Sairundan is far to the south west, closer to the tower of air. My brother is to become a Dervish soon, as my father before me and as I wish to as well. The Dervishes are great warriors of my people, and of the world, where they wander with the wind and fight for those in need. It will be a celebration, and my father wishes me to return. I have money to pay those who come with, and my father will likely have more for the return trip. If it is strange creatures and adventures you seek, the trip has peril, and the creatures of the desert are unlike those here in the wetlands."

[sblock=OOC]Ossa wouldn't be all that bad as a warrior against 1st level threats, once armed. But yeah, might be awkward with the parties, birthday and adventuring both. Although if Taelythenihel could convince Lasair that her guardianship of the undead abomination is a matter of vhal :] Conuld... yeah, if he's wanted, I'm happy to bring him into the RDI, looking for Tommy, getting miffed that his pal has gone off without him, and deciding to go on a long trip to Sairundan.
