AFAIK, I can't drop a figment over a pre-existing object.
[sblock=OOC] I disagree, based on this: "Figments cannot make something seem to be something else" which is expanded on here: "Beware of attempts to use figments as glamers. For example, you can use a figment to create an apple tree, but you can't use a figment to make your buddy look like an apple tree. You'd need a glamer spell to perform the latter trick." That would seem to exclude putting a large apple tree image over a real person. You could still of course hide him amongst some illusory trees, but not disguise him as a tree. Similarly, I don't think I could put an illusory fleshy head over Ossa's skull.[/sblock]Rystil Arden said:(OOC: You just make the figment slightly larger than the person and have the person walk 'inside' of the figment. Since the figment creates its own specific sensory information for the space, unlessyour figment is translucent or doesn't cover all the way, it can work. It requires careful synchronisation while walking though)
[sblock=OOC] Well, he could certainly walk inside a figment of a cottage, so hiding inside a fake tree is, I guess, reasonable. But I think using Silent Image to create the same effect as Seeming might cause some DMs unease. But still, it's duration Concentration instead of 12 hours, so that's a huge balancing factor. Oh well... that would make Taelythenihel's life easier. Still, in this instance, she didn't want Ossa to be physically present if the illusion were penetrated, as it was - it was just that everyone was polite and didn't ask what on earth she was up to.Rystil Arden said:[SBLOCK=OOC]You can't make him look like a tree, but he could go inside if he overlapped with the tree. After all, it's the obvious effect of walking inside of a large opaque figment. What else would happen, do you think?
Anyways, Illusions are easy enough to overcome that it's nice to give them some use.[/SBLOCK]
