"I...I usually prefer to walk on my own two feet. I feel ill at ease on horseback, though I had a horse in the past. If we do need one, I can acquire it."

"It is a long journey, and we will make much better time. I'll start a list of supplies and set aside some money to cover them."

(Previously)
Taelythenihel locks eyes with Kurgahz. A message passes between them. Her eyebrows knit. She speaks to him, perhaps surprisingly, in the language of his father: "Your will is strong, I see. I make trial of those here, to see how they react to illness and deformity." But the half-orc makes no response and stomps out of the inn.

To Shadya, she says "Ossa is... stronger than she looks. But I understand if she unsettles you. I will not go without her. She came to me, for reasons that I do not understand, and I am responsible for her, until I do."

[sblock=OOC] I missed the pre-edited comments by Lasair. I bet they were fun. Darn ziivash. AFAIK, I can't drop a figment over a pre-existing object, I'd need a glamer. Besides 'Disguise Self' which doesn't work for a grammatical reason, there don't seem to be any until Seeming, which is 5th level! So T used a Silent Image to project an alternate less-dead-than-she-really-is Ossa. I quite understand if a skeletal minion tagging along will exclude Taelythenihel from a lot of adventures. There are so many bigoted necrophobes out there. :p [/sblock]

(OOC: You just make the figment slightly larger than the person and have the person walk 'inside' of the figment. Since the figment creates its own specific sensory information for the space, unlessyour figment is translucent or doesn't cover all the way, it can work. It requires careful synchronisation while walking though)

[sblock=OOC] I disagree, based on this: "Figments cannot make something seem to be something else" which is expanded on here: "Beware of attempts to use figments as glamers. For example, you can use a figment to create an apple tree, but you can't use a figment to make your buddy look like an apple tree. You'd need a glamer spell to perform the latter trick." That would seem to exclude putting a large apple tree image over a real person. You could still of course hide him amongst some illusory trees, but not disguise him as a tree. Similarly, I don't think I could put an illusory fleshy head over Ossa's skull.[/sblock]

[SBLOCK=OOC]You can't make him look like a tree, but he could go inside if he overlapped with the tree. After all, it's the obvious effect of walking inside of a large opaque figment. What else would happen, do you think?

Anyways, Illusions are easy enough to overcome that it's nice to give them some use.[/SBLOCK]

[sblock=OOC] Well, he could certainly walk inside a figment of a cottage, so hiding inside a fake tree is, I guess, reasonable. But I think using Silent Image to create the same effect as Seeming might cause some DMs unease. But still, it's duration Concentration instead of 12 hours, so that's a huge balancing factor. Oh well... that would make Taelythenihel's life easier. Still, in this instance, she didn't want Ossa to be physically present if the illusion were penetrated, as it was - it was just that everyone was polite and didn't ask what on earth she was up to. :) [/sblock]

Not looking at anyone, Taelythenihel speaks quietly into the bustle of people excited about the possibility of travel to Sairundan. "It was a year ago, on the anniversary of my mother's death, fifty years before. Her loss and the loss of my father lay heavy on my mind. I was alone and lonely. I bethought myself of the ritual that would call to me a wizard's familiar, to be my companion and friend. I desired an ermine, a weasel as white as snow, or bone." Her smile is tinged with regret. "But instead, when I stirred from trance the next morning, no ermine familiar had come. Instead there was Ossa, standing outside the casement of my rooms, her face, such as it is, pressed against the glass. I was frightened, but I soon perceived that she meant me no harm. She has followed me since, as a faithful servant, and does my bidding without complaint."
