Greetings!
Hmmm...I have Queen of the Demonweb. I love that campaign module! I look forward to the City of the Spider Queen! It should rock!
But you know what? I also have the boxed set Menzoberranzan, and I just have to say that it's cool and all, but to be honest--
Queen of the Demonweb is still superior. Queen just had that wicked rough edge to it, that despite Menzo's high production values and gloss, it just seems too polished, and well, shallow, you know? It's hard for me to quite define what is really "wrong" with Menzoberranzan. I suppose one thing is that (or two) that it doesn't have that sense of wickedness and roughness to it. I still look at them, and it's strange, because Menzo seems to collect dust on my shelf, but I still flip through Queen just to relive the in some bizarre way, the ancient glee I got when I ran my first groups of players through those dark caverns those long years ago...Queen still whispers and gibbers inspiration to me for dark adventures in the ancient deeps of the world...
Menzo just...sits there.
