Clarification on Epic Spell Progression needed please.

Hey all,

This is just a small question: The Epic Level Handbook states, "...your caster level continues to increase after 20th level. Thus a 23rd-level wizard casts as a 23rd-level character....However, your spells per day don't increase after 20th level" (p. 7 in the Epic Level Handbook).

Is that 20th level cap class level or character level?
(Sorry if this is a question that has been answered many times before, but I cannot find it.)

Thanks,

Its class level.

Oh, and just a random example of why it needs to be this way, imagine someone who decided to multiclass into wizard after becoming epic. If you did it the other way, they wouldn't be able to cast at all

Wow

That's what I thought, just making sure.
