My suggestion.
Secretly find another gaming group. Then ditch the whining cretins and move on. I've read the other message board. All 3 sound fairly poor in the people skills area. If they weren't they'ld bring in some "fresh blood" to a) bolster your numbers, b) add new perspective to the game, c) outnumber this "LG" loser, and d) have fun with more people.
It appals me that 2 out of 4 of your players (sounds like "LG" has a buddy, just like the Varius and Valicor team up) are basically complianing without constructive input. Atleast the lost cause "LG" has the brilliant idea to import some new people. Not for the right reasons, but it is a start.
Now for real advice: Sit them all down and discuss the problem. If they really are friends they will eventually understand and be able to work through it. If not, let them fall to the wayside.
As a side note, are you guys still in High School. Nothing against younger players, but I saw most of that "power gaming" and "need to be King" crap back in Middle-Junoir high. Most people grow out of it (or get stuck in that mode and never leave their geek-past behind). I am not saying everyone should play peasants, but a little diversity never hurts... (heh, this coming from mister Rogue... I cry when a class gets less than 8 skill points a level, and pout if they don't have Uncanny Defense)
